very beautiful museum 9/28/2005

National Civil War Museum is a very beautiful museum. The building is grand and fancy. It looks beautiful inside and out, as do the grounds surrounding the building. The museum itself is pretty nice. They do have a nice array of artifacts and occasionally get other items for a limited time. It is still fairly new so the collection is still growing. The prices to get it are a bit high, but it is a nice place to go for an afternoon and is something different to do. more

Not just for Civil War buffs 8/2/2005

The fairly new Civil War Museum in Harrisburg is worth the trip to see what it is all about, but I don't know if we'll be making a return trip any time in the near future. It is a nice collection of Civil War artifacts and memorabilia, but the admission price is almost staggering for what it is. The opinion of my husband and I is that we would rather jump in the car and drive to Gettysburg than return back to this museum. more
