I love this vet! 12/31/2010

I used Brykerwood as a 2nd opinion a few years ago, and should've switched to them then. However, I made the mistake of staying with my old vet. We recently had a disaster with both dogs at our old vet and have seen the light and switched over completely to Brykerwood. In the past two weeks, we have seen Drs. Whitworth & Werner, and both were wonderful. They were repairing mistakes made by my other vet. They are great & I would recommend them to all my friends! more

Nothing But Positive!! 6/7/2010

There is not enough good that I can say about Brykerwood Veterinary Clinic and it 's staff. \r A couple of years ago, my sweet boy became very ill, and I had gone to Dr. Biehle as a strong recommendation to me by my family.. \r It's funny, but after Dr. Biehle had told me that he would find out what was wrong with my little guy, and will take care of him, I was completely at ease. \r I had another close call a few months back, and this time my little buddy was extremely sick, and we were told that it was possible that he would not make it through the night. Dr. Biehle did say that they would do everything that they could, and I have to say that he, as well as Drs. Moore, Whitworth, and Healy put everything they had taking care of my sweetheart. Through tests, they were unable to pinpoint the problem, and due to this, they continued to do manual research on this case. My dog had stayed 4 - 5 nights, and every morning I would receive a phone call from one of the doctors with a happy report, more

I loved this! He is now a happy, energetic, playful puppy!!!\r \r If you have ANY doubts about this clinic, please give them a shot!! I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Vets, desk staff, and technicians. When it comes to your pets health, don't sweat the small stuff. I haven't had issues in these areas, but I will say that sometimes it does get a little backed up in the lobby. This to me a a good sign, and shows that Brykerwood is in high demand! \r \r Good luck with your search!\r \r \r Pros: Wonderful, Caring, Considerate Cons: None!!!!! more

Completely Satisfied 9/11/2009

I had lost my dog and while looking for him at TLAC had rescued a kitty that was being dropped off. I happened upon Brykerwood only because my my regular vet was closed. It seems as if they have taken the criticism of the front desk staff to heart, because they were wonderful when I came in. And the doctor, Allison (I think) was absolutely fantastic. She was compassionate and competent. They also gave me a discount because I had rescued the cat from TLAC. The kitty tested positive for feline leukemia, so right now they are trying to find a place where he can go. Coincidentally, I found my dog when I went back to TLAC, and he had been hitt by a car. I took him straight to Brykerwood, where the doctor looked at him and took x-rays. Again she was super kind and compassionate, and knowledgeable. When the x-ray showed he had a broken vertebrate, she got on the phone right away with the emergency specialty clinic for him to be transferred there. They loaded him up on a doggy stretcher and put him in my car. It was a terrifying experience for me to have to put my faith in a place I had never been to, and they put me at ease. They are compassionate, friendly, competent-- I cannot praise this place more highly. Pros: compassionate care, staff, location Cons: wait time more

H it or miss and sadly too many misses 8/29/2009

I've been at Brykerwood for several years, and whereas I have often been satisfied with the clinic, I've had too many occasions where I have been upset with their service staff. In the past some staff have spoken to me with contempt, been sarcastic, rude, or acted cute. What makes matters worse is that when I've tried to talk to Brykerwood about this (twice) they have either ignored me, or worst still, treated me with the same contempt that their staff has directed towards me. The fact is, all I ever wanted was to be heard and offered a simple apology and Brykerwood refused. So I'll be moving onto a new vet and I hope that Brykerwood reads this and realizes that it is important to treat customers (especially long term customers) with respect. Pros: Location Cons: Service more

A great vet all around! 4/29/2008

I have two labs that I take to Brykerwood. We have only lived in Austin 10 months, but since coming to Texas, our dogs have developed allergy issues. We have been to the office for fleas, shots, kennel cough, a spay, shoulder injury, and on and on. I feel like I am in there weekly, and not once does the staff or docs make us feel uncomfortable or a nuisance. They have been helpful in a long process of deteriming what causes the allergies and patient with our numerous questions. The phone service is fine. Sometimes the approach of the front desk staff can be short, but we have all been busy in our work days...they are busy all of the time. The building is old, not dirty. People are cleaning all of the time. Overall, this clinic is great and has made our transition to Austin much better as far as the dogs are concerned. Pros: Affordable, great vets, accommodating with appointments, Walk in on Sat morning/weekdays after 3pm more

great vet 4/8/2008

my family has been using Brykerwood vet since i was a child and they have always been extremely kind and accomodating. when my golden retreiver was found to have cancer they were very kind to him and me. when my parents cat lived there for 3 months after nearly dying from a coyote attack they were extremely accomodating. they have been there for us through 7 cats and 2 dogs over a period of 30 years. the vet office can be a bit ""furry"" at times - it is a vet after all! but i always see their techs sweeping and cleaning when i am there. their desk staff has always been kind but they are always busy (they are popular remember?) and that's ok because in any doctor office human or animal i expect a wait!\r \r Brykerwood will do anything for you and your pet bottom line. Pros: great staff, central location Cons: parking lot hard to get in and out of more

Not my favorite 3/17/2008

I have taken my cat to Brykerwood several times and have always had adequate service. My cat has never come to any harm while in their care and they have always fixed my cat up when she was sick. I have decided to stop going to Brykerwood for several different reasons. For one, the place is very dirty, and it seems like they have not cleaned in a long time. Secondly, I feel they could communicate better. They kept my cat overnight to decide if she needed dental surgery or not, I was told that they would call me if she needed surgery or not. The next day they never called and started the surgery without telling me; and I had to call several times before anyone knew what was happening with my cat. Lastly, the desk service is lacking. While in the waiting room I overheard one of the desk ladies admonishing the other because she had told a client to bring in their dog at a late hour because the dog was sick. She said ""I wouldn't recommend telling clients to bring in their pets this late in the day with such few staff. They should have brought their dog in yesterday when they knew their dog was sick."" I just found their attitude really disheartening, since I feel the whole point of a vet is to help sick animals. more

Bryerwood 3/17/2008

This is the best clinic in Austin. Dr. Bealy was always there for us when our family needed us. We have had two cats in our family throughout the years and have always taken them to Brykerwood. I will continue to use them when we get our next pet. more

Great vet 11/10/2006

Kristina is very smart and thorough. She even calls to check up on how your pet is doing after their visit. more

Professional, Respected, but a little slow on service 10/31/2006

Brykerwood, in my opinion, is the best Vet Clinic in Austin. Dr. Bealy is well known and respected in the community and he takes care of your pets as if they were his own. He also takes time to spend and consult individuals when experiencing tough situations like sick or dying pets. Dr. Menier is also great to deal with. \r \r Like many other Vets, Doctors, etc. Brykerwood can be extremely SLOW. Waiting 45 minutes to an hour with 3 people in front of you seems a litte extreme. However, I would want to make sure my animals are taken care of vs. rushing through another clinic. My only complaint would be the staff at the front desk often comes accross as a little overwhelmed, and often confused. Pros: Professional and Experienced Cons: Front Desk Staff and time waiting can be frustrating more

unexpected good phone service 10/30/2006

I wanted to use Brykerwood Vet Clinic due to great rec's about their doctors, but when I looked up the phone number, I found these reviews and was a little hesitant about calling. I did call and was DELIGHTED with the service I received. more

Superb service 10/17/2006

Dr. Allison Healy is an excellent vet. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and listened to my concerns about my dog. She even did a follow-up call a few days after our visit to check on my dog, and he only had a skin rash. I have been to a few different vets, and she is by far the best. I will definitely take my dog to her again. more

Lousy Front Desk Support 8/1/2006

As a cat and dog owner for many years, I have gone to several Vets around Austin. Brykerwood Veterinarians are my favorite because they are compassionate, patient, and professional. Unfortunately their front desk personnel make a lousy first impression. They seem to be terminally understaffed, and unfortunately the clients suffer. In the past, I have stood for a long time at the front desk window waiting for someone to acknowledge me. Today, alone, I was put on hold 3 times and had to give up because it was such a long wait. The clinic must add another staff member just to answer phones and help clients pay their bills. Sadly, Brykerwood has just lost another client. Pros: Great vets Cons: Lousy front desk support more

Excellent care for your pets 7/8/2006

I have taken multiple pets to Brykerwood and have always found the staff most compassionate and helpful. Drs Charlie and Greg are the best. They happen to be my daschunds' best friend. \r I would recommed this clinic to anyone.\r Thanks to all of the Brykerwood crew! more

Good and Bad 3/1/2006

I have been a Brykerwood fan for many years. Yes, the medical care has been good. The staff care has been consistently BAD. Rude on the phone. Rude in person. Difficult to work with even during very sensitive times. I have found a new clinic to take my pets to, and that says A LOT since I was once, long ago, a BIG Brykerwood fan. more

Compassionate, affordable, professional 9/14/2005

I've been taking my pets - dogs and cats - to Brykerwood for almost 20 years now. All of tem have lived their lives getting vaccinated, checked, healed, and sometimes euthanized here. They've held my hand, they've given excellent advice and have good patience despite a very very busy clinic; I have great respect and appreciation for Greg Biehle, Charlie Meunier, and ALL of the staff - Beth, Babs, Jeff, Vicky... the interns, including that nice young fellow who has to give the meds to all of those grumpy cats.... Great organizations speak volumes through how well the staff work together and relate to customers. They get my highest rating and appreciation. Pros: compassion , professionalism, knowledge more

Compassionate Care 8/22/2005

I have a kitty who broke his leg and needed LOTS of care. The staff at Brykerwood were extremely compassionate and took spectacular care of Mojo (especially Dr. Charlie). Mojo is on the path to recovery now, and I will certainly be a client for a long time to come. Pros: Knowledgeable, caring, patient more

Great people!! 6/5/2005

I highly recommend this place and am really impressed with the staff and with Dr. Meynier. They have been really patient and kind to me. I have a Yorkie puppy who had Pancreatitis and they were all SO nice to me when I was freaking out. Dr. Meynier even gave me his number and told me to call if I had questions or any problems. I am very thankful and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and clinic. more

Nice People! 6/20/2004

The Clinic must have read the reviews about discourteous office staff, because when I went there Summer 2004 they were all extremely nice to me. It seemed as if the wait time averaged about 15 to 30 minutes, but it wasn't unpleasant. The vet was very nice and called to give me a status check. I had a great experience, and I would go there again. Pros: Knowledgeable, Friendly, Location more
