The Mango Grove and Mirchi Wok, both owned and operated by Rohit Chawla, are powerhouses of deception and dishonesty. Under the mild facade of an Indian Restaurant, Chawla leads an outfit which can only be described as highway robbery.\r
If you do decide to eat the third class, stale and tasteless food of this establishment, make sure you check your bill carefully as Chawla will double charge you or add on a harmless $2-6 dollars for items hoping your eye won't catch it. If your bill is higher than you expected, and you question it, be prepared for Chawla to berate you, insult you, dismiss you or degrade you.\r
If you dare express unhappiness about the service, the quality of food, the bill...anything...he will become passive aggressive and give you the silent treatment. If you question him about his restaurant, he will ask you to leave without resolving your issue or addressing your concern.\r
He will say he's not the owner or MOD. He will refuse to give you the contact information of the owner. Additionally, he won't give you a receipt. Just in case you want to come back on a later day and dispute the charge...sorry. No receipt. Overall, he will behave in the most unprofessional manner you have ever experienced.\r
You can pay quietly and leave or you can cause a scene. Nothing will matter. He has been ripping pocketing thousands of dollars on a DAILY basis and nothing you do will stop him.\r
This is why Rohit Chawla?s smile is so smug. He knows Indian Americans are spineless cowards who will eventually pay whatever the bill says and avoid confrontation at all costs. He knows they are wealthy and will not belittle themselves to argue over four dollars. He knows he can get away with it. And there is not a thing you or I can do about it. Unless some brave and fearless Indian grows a spine. But that's highly unlikely.\r
So go ahead and enjoy the unique experience of ""crappy meal meets highway robbery"" featured exclusively at The Mirchi Wok; compliments of Rohit Chowla.
