This by far is my favorite tex mex restuarant EVERRR!! WHy it hasn't won more awards I do not know. Honestly you must try. I have been going here now for a few years and they have the best, highest quality food, best service and by far the best margharitas. Even though I have mi cocina's closer to my home, this is the one I choose because of the friendly atmosphere, service and because of the great outdoors. Ivan, the manager at this mi cocina is why I always go back. He is so incredibly wonderful. He goes around greteting all the tables, and over all does an incredible job making sure everything goes smoothly on a packed fri and sat night. You can sit out doors, either in the open or with a cover over top and sit next to the little pond they have there. It is great for kids, they can feed the ducks and there are not any uptight workers having problems with it. They immediately come over, give you your chips take your drink order and from there the pace of the meal is all up to you. There margharitas I dream about. They are so thick and slushy like. They have the perfect amount of tequilla and are not really sweet which I like. The food is amazing. There brisket tacos are incredible as are the nachos, served open style with the option to get fajita meat which is large slices of chicken and steak instead of crumbles. The quesadillas are perfect as well. If you like salads the rico salad is incredible, and it comes with a spicy garlic dressing, which I only wish I could order cases of to bring home. Over all if your looking for great, light tex mex, that doesnt leave you unbuttoning your pants, and friendly service go to any mi cocina, but if you want the best experience, go to the one in Plano on Preston.... you will have the best experience!
Pros: food, margharitas, outdoor patio, service, parking, fun ambience, Ivan the manager
Cons: no reservations, but you can sit at the bar if there is a wait
