viva la med! 10/25/2002

This is an awesome restaurant. A completely original menu, always masterfully executed, with beautiful presentation as an added treat. The hours are unusually good for this town, Happy Hour makes reasonably priced fare even more affordable. My favorite restaurant in Boulder. The only complaints I can make are that it is so popular that it is extremely busy and often gets very loud (which I hate, but the food makes it worth it.) Also, the wait staff, while prompt, attentive, and skillful, are often a little fakey and grovelling in the management's obvious attempt to make the place seem as nouvea-riche as possible. A word of warning--although one can eat very well here for a moderate fee, it's often very difficult to do so because the desserts, salads, tapas, drinks, etc. are all so tempting. It's easy to submit to that temptation and double your bill. Pros: great food, great service, decent price Cons: crowded, noisy more

MMMMMM!!! 9/27/2002

Tucked away from the street near beautiful Pearl Street in Boulder, it is easy to pass by the Med without even noticing that it is there. Make sure you do! The tapas are to die for, especialy the calimari. Eat all the food you want, you will rarely ever stumble over something you don't like. Skip dessert, though. At $7.50 a peice, the sweets are not worth the dough. But overall, the Med is one of the best restaurants in Boulder! Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: dessert, price, yippie Boulderites more

the Med Impression 9/26/2002

Wow! This is such a great restaurant. The food is fantastic. Try the tapas with friends after work or take a date there for the wood fired pizza and great pastas. The setting is classy but casual. I really enjoy the Med (as its informally called) and I highly recomend it. Pros: great food, indoor/outdoor table, tapas! Cons: no parking, fairly expensive, not good for kids more

Best place to take friends/family 8/23/2002

Whenever friends or family visit me in Boulder, this is the first place I recommend...it has food that pretty much everyone I know enjoys, and does it well. The atmosphere is perhaps a little trendy, and it can be quite loud when busy (my parents hated that part about it, as we could scarcely hear each other talk on the night we went), but overall this is a real winner. Fairly decent beer list for a general restaurant too (Reissdorf Kölsch, Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier, etc.). Attentive/professional service. Pros: Food, Lots of seats/space, Service Cons: Very loud when busy more

To Die For! 8/9/2002

This is the best restaurant in the entire Denver area because this is where you find the best food and service for the best price. No snootie waiters here, just good responsive service from friendly people. more

Tapas Please 8/8/2002

Don't show up at 7:30 on a Tuesday night expecting to be seated right away. Sit at the bar and have a drink. The staff is friendly and sometimes frenzied. Flowers arranged by the owner add love to this always bustling restaurant. Go for Tapas hour and try all the great tastes they serve. Especially, the calamari and garlic spread. Best restaurant in Boulder, hand down. more

NOT the Best in Boulder!!! 7/23/2002

There are many excellent places to eat in Boulder, and this is not one of them. On an average night, you stand uncomfortably shoulder to shoulder with everyone else waiting to be seated... and it's only because it is a small restaurant, not because it's popular. Then it is so loud inside because everyone is sitting on top of eachother that you can't hear the person sitting next to you without concentration. And the food is NOT impressive. Try any of the places on Pearl Street and you are guaranteed better off than here! more

Best in Boulder? No way! 7/19/2002

Stick with the tapas and the pizzas and you will be okay. Steer clear of anything that is more adventerous, namely just about everything else on the menu. I have never been happy with these dishes. They do have a good kids menu. It is a sad commentary on Boulder restaurants if this is the best. Pros: nice outdoor area Cons: Boulder parking, Crowded more
