Mangold Property Management

Avoid like the plague. They are a take it or leave it property management company. The owners are absentee and leave it to the front office to run things and collect fees. You will pay a application fee of 35 just for the priviledge of applying let alone whether they have a property for you or not. Front office staff has a real attitude and the properties are substandard. I have been struggling with a cockro-ch problem in an apartment complex managed by Mangold (my apartment is literally overrun with them). Cockro-ches pose a serious health risk because they are disease carriers. Mangold property management, whom I contacted to report the problem, did not return my phone messages and when I did get through to someone on the phone, the representative yawned and actually said, ""Well, just move out!"" When I explained I had an infant son and wanted the ro-ches GONE instead of my having to move, the representative promised to buck it up to someone else at Mangold for action. Needless to say, I never heard back from them. I'm contacting the county's health and safety department for action. \r \r Everyone remember the statement, ""EBayer Beware!"" Well, I'm telling you--Renter Beware! Avoid Mangold properties. You will get NO SUPPORT on potentially dangerous issues! Staying in 696 Casanova Avenue.The Apartment Manager is very rude, arrogant and has got some attitude problem. Always indulge in some confrontation, does not pay attention in making the facilities work, the pipelines are all old, toilet often gets clogged. The buildings are very old and make sqeezing noise if one walks on the floor.The blinds does not work,toilets are full of rust and windows does not open properly. The buildings lack proper maintainance.The Manager often refers to lease agreement and threatens the tenants to vacate the apartment. Does not allows to guest to stay for a week even. I felt like saying in a prison without proper freedom.\r Have a very bad experience. Dont recommend others to come and stay here. more

I really can not say enough poor things about this agency. Rude, incompetent, unprofessional would only be the begining. The front office staff could care less to help you rather than be on the phone or internet. The agency manager (Scott) either can not control his staff or worse, does not care to do so. With the high prices of rentals in Monterey you would think one might get at least professional service. Sadly this is not the case at this agency. Pros: uh, well they say that they have thousands of properties Cons: customer service more
