Mama's Southern Plantation

i and a friend went to this restaurant yesterday on my birthday. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cordial, the waitress was very attentive to our needs. Iiked the fact that when we ordered our plate, the wait was a fraction of that of places like applebees or Dees restaraunt. The food was fresh, and very well prepared. It is a litle pricy , but you get big proportions, we got enough to make another plate when we got home. The overall services were outstanding! Well i was visiting Utah from Atlanta and i was trying to find some good soul food like back home. So i looked up soul food on the internet and it pulled up mamas southern plantaition so i went there and it smelt pretty good but it taste like garbage the Ribs and chicken were tourible and the service was tourible i couldn't even get some napkins. i couldnt even eat the food so i gave it to my brothers dog i think he liked it. but i was more impressed with KFC at least there chicken wasnt dry.. Oh yea i forgot about their prices i dont understand why its so high for that nasty food i just dont get it. Pros: good for the dogs Cons: worst soul food more

First of all this place is not safe there was a man found murdered at there front door and anyway the food is nothing to write home to your mother about. Plus come to find out this place really is not the real Southern Plantation that use to be on state street. This place is a FRAUD I do not even know how they are still using this name they have been Court Order.To change there name filed by the original owners of the Southern Plantion from 4th south and from 1465 south state remember these guys they are the 5 star Southern Plantation. Not these FRAUDS and those of you that have been to the real Southern Plantation and those that been to this hole in the wall you already know the TRUTH So remember and think twice before you go to eat this garbage that they ARE NOT THE REAL SOUTHERN PLANTATION. Great food. Nice people. Inconvenient location is you live in the south valley. Fried chicken is as good as you can get. Don't forget the dessert. Usually a pie or cake they made that day. Pros: Food, People Cons: Tough neighborhood, hard to find. more

This place is DISGUSTING! In EVERY WAY! The one ""employee"" must be the owner's offspring as no one would be stupid enough to hire the cretin! I took my two teenage sons and we had fried chicken, ribs, potato salad, greens and BBQ beans. Everything was delicious and my sons can't wait to go back. Very realaxed, family atmosphere. Great food! We'll be back! Pros: small dining room Cons: very friendly staff, great tasting food more

Mama's Plantation is located in a small, hot, non-airconditioned turn of the century house. They do not accept credit/debit cards or checks. The waitress, while semi-friendly was pleasant but appeared to be the only employee at the time. We ordered catfish but as the food was brought to the table our waitress informed us... AT THE TIME THE FOOD WAS BEING SERVED keep in mind... that only 2 of us were going to have catfish and we had to decide who was going to get the generic white fish. Disappointing to say the least. The bread came out of those loafs you get in the supermarket, not even a restaurant supply company. No butter was served or offered. To sum it all up, it was probably the worst 'Soul Food' we've ever experienced in our lives as customers. We were all seriously offended on how poorly run and how poor quality the food and overall experience was. If you even have 1/4 of your tastebuds left, you will leave that place completely offended on how cheap everything was. Kentucky Fried Chicken FAR surpasses the food at Mama's Plantation from Hell. Mama's Southern Plantation serves food with soul, the restaurant is clean and freindly. The food is not only delicious, but pleasing to the eye as well as the palette. The atmosphere is romantic and family freindly. Great for group reservations, i would recommend this hot spot to anyone. Pros: On site parking more

The food was good but overpriced. No ketchup or other condiment was available. Don't count on the waitress asking you for a refill. You will get one napkin. I tried to like the place but the waitress was preoccupied with a friend. The chicken and catfish was presented and tasted well. Pros: tasty food Cons: poor service, overpriced more
