Editorial review from Citysearch 2/20/2013

From another happy patient of Dr. David Malitz- "" Lasik is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I wish that I had done it sooner. Before Lasik, I wore contacts but was still unable to see 20/20. After LASIK, I was able to see 20/20. It has given me great flexibility especially in my travels not having to pack extra items for vision. Also as a single mom, it has given me greater confidence when the kids wake up in the middle of the night and I dont have to search for my glasses. Even though I had the procedure in 2007, I am still wowed when I wake up in the middle of the night and can read the time on my DVR across the room.""- Kari Akin more

One of the best Doctors in the country 11/20/2010

My sister in law is one of those people that do a lot of research before going to any doctor and she was looking for a very experience eye surgeon that could fix her strabismus. She saw and add in the Yellow pages for Southwest eye institute and decided to show up to Dr. Malitz office to schedule her appointment. She was impressed by the staff, even though she had no appointment they took the time to answer all her questions and and schedule an appointment for her to see Dr. Malitz. He did surgery on both her eyes and she had great results, even though the risk of needing a second surgery was explained to her, her eyes were perfect after surgery and to the date. It has been a year since her surgery and she is still very thankful that she put her eyes in Dr. Malitz hands.\r \r I go to Southwest eye instute for my eyes as well because Dr. Singh did my PRK surgery. \r \r Me and my family onry go to Southwest eye Institute for our eye care. They are the best!! more

The best eye Doctors in Las Vegas 11/20/2010

I thought about getting Lasik ever since I turned 18, I finally got around it and did some research about the Lasik Institutes in Las Vegas, it didn't take me long to realize after a few calls to local ophthalmology offices that Southwest Eye Institute was the place to go. They were the only ones that treated me like a person over the phone answering all my questions and not like a client. I saw Dr Surjeet Singh and after thoughly explaining the difference between PRK and LASIK I decided I wanted him to operate on my eyes. He is very knowledgable and he clearly knows what he is doing.\r He did PRK on my eyes in May 2009 and since then I haven't worn glasses for anything. My vision is still 20/20 and I can happily say that that was the best money I have ever spendt. My life changed and all thanks to Dr. Singh from Southwest eye Institute. \r \r Thank you Dr. Singh for my new eyes!!! more

DR. SINGH IS KING OF EYES! 10/31/2010

Just wanted to share my wonderful experience with those seeking corrective eye surgery. After doing a ton of research, I decided to go to Dr. Surjeet Singh for a corrective eye surgery consultation. During the initial visit he spent a lot of time examining my eyes and explaining the difference between PRK and LASIK. He made me feel so comfortable and secure during my visits that I decided to do PRK. Even though I was nervous during the surgery, I was confident that I was in the right hands. I followed Dr. Singh's advice and post-surgery instructions and now I have perfect vision. I definitely have a new lease on life and I owe it to Dr. Singh. SINGH IS KING! more

Simply the Best! 10/26/2010

I had surgery at southwest eye institute after 2 years of contemplating eye surgery. I could not have asked for a better experience with Southwest Eye Institute. Dr. Singh and all of the staff that I met were exceptional. They answered all of my questions, didn't rush me, and gave me the support I needed. The new office is spotless, uncrowded and I didn't feel like a peice of cattle (which is how I often feel at doctors offices) and they use the latest technology. Dr. Singh even recorded my surgery so I could watch it later and show to my family who live across the country! \r I opted for PRK and my vision is 20/20. The post surgery symptoms were clearly explained to me and everything went so smoothly, the staff was professional, and the follow up appts with Dr. Singh have been equally so. \r It was an ideal experience and my vision is simply amazing! more

""Eye""ly recommend! 10/26/2010

My wife sang this morning.... I can see clearly now...the glasses are gone I can see all obstacles in my way Gone are the pitiable looks that had me sad It turned into a bright (bright), bright (bright) Sun-Shiny day. My wife has never been able to see. So when she opted for lasik surgery to rid her of her coke bottle glasses, we did some serious research. We ""interviewed"" many doctors but it was Dr. Singh's confidence and personality that won us over. He was confident of his abilities. I even went for an exam, and he told me due to my eye shape, he felt that I was not an ideal candidate. For a specialist to say that he could not do something really made him stand out in our outs. One a lighter note, besides being a doctor that cares about the well-being of your eyes, he is also quite an expert at putting the drops into my eyes..... It usually takes more than 10 tries for me (yes, i'm that scared of those things), but Dr Singh did it the first time. If you love your eyes, this is the man who will help you take care of them. I can definitely see why he gets 5 stars in every review...he comes ""Eye""ly recommend! more

THE Site for Sore Eyes! 10/25/2010

I was able to have my eyes operated on after years of research at this institute and I cannot rate them higher. Starting from the initial consultation to the last exam to make sure everything was fine it was a pleasure. The staff was friendly and attentive, the doctor was actually present and met with me prior to my surgery to explain the two types of surgeries that I could chose from and what to expect from both. On the day of the surgery I was treated promptly and completely throughout the process. My new eyes are awesome and I can see like I did when i was a kid. The doctor himself made sure that my results were what I wanted and expected and even followed up to make sure that I didnt have anything to report. I have referred a bunch of people and they have all had the same rave reviews. A must go for anyone that wants better vision! more

Nasty People 7/20/2009

High pressure sales. They are like used car salesmen, I found out that the center was closed by the state. Cons: The place smells like intestinal gas more

Not impressed 12/22/2008

I was not impressed at all by either the care or the environment. The place was freezing cold, there were no patients, and the staff did not seem to have a clue. Dr. Singh was not very helpful, but was quick to place blame elsewhere. This place does not give off a warm, comfortable feeling and neither did the doctor. Pros: Parking Cons: Everything else more

Very happy! 9/16/2008

I went in very skeptical but I have never been happier. I highly recommend Southwest Eye to anyone who is considering vision correction surgery. Dr. Singh is very thorough and very caring. You feel like he takes a personal interest in you and that you are not just another number. The whole staff is fantastic - they have all been so friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get Lasik or PRK. Pros: Everything - the Dr., the staff - definite thumbs up! more

Horrible place, operating room unsafe 5/13/2008

This place is horrible. Staff is rude, doctor is worse. The operating room was cited for major deficiencies by the Nevada Division of Health. If you value your sight, you will stay far away from this place. Cons: Rude doctors, rude staff, operating room unsafe, no patients in office at all more

I can finally SEE!!!!!!!!! 5/13/2008

I wore glasses all of my life, and could never see the alarm clock in the morning without searching for my glasses. Your caring staff walked me through the whole process, and you made feel comfortable in the operating room when I was really nervous. I cant belive you changed my life in 10 minutes! \r Thanks Dr. Malitz! \r Pros: great location, first class image, and excellent doctors! Cons: none....very happy patient!!! more

I miss Dr. Buzard. 10/27/2007

I miss Dr. Buzard. That's all I have to say. I didn't get the feeling that these people really cared about anything but the money. There was no customer service. The woman doctor had no idea what she was doing. I'll go somewhere else and suggest you do the same. more

Recommend Buzard - not new guy 7/26/2006

I had the same experience. I had to see some guy to talk to before I could even get an exam. I did not meet the doctor - I heard he doesn't even live here. Just what we need...another doctor who only cares about money. I decided not to have surgery - I'll just wait for Dr. Buzard. more

Dr. Buzard retired... 6/15/2006

My ex got his lasik vision correction there and it is awesome. I made my appointment and was excited until my ex asked who the doctor was. It was not Dr. Buzard. It was some other doctor. And on my ex's consultation day, he got to meet the doctor. I didn't. I am going to pull back my money and tell them that I have to think about it. Experience doesn't always come with age, but it surely makes you feel more comfortable when it comes to your eyes. more
