I ordered cupcakes from Maggie and Mollys for my boyfriends graduation party a little over a year ago. They got rave reviews, especially the red velvet. When we became engaged, I decided I wanted to have red velvet cupcakes for our wedding reception so went back to Mary and wanted to sample some other flavors as well. The samples I got were all very stale, which I told Mary about and she promplty offered to make new ones, unable to figure out what had happened with those. I declined and decided instead to proceed with the order based on the quality of the cupcakes we had gotten from her for the graduation party. I ordered 65 red velvet cupcakes which she baked with chocolate brown cupcake wrappers to match my colors ( light blue and brown). They were beautiful, and absolutely delicious. Dense, moist, fresh with the best creme cheese frosting I've ever tasted. In fact, just to be sure before ordering from Maggie and Mollys I sampled red velvet cupcakes from 3 other bakeries, incuding the much hyped ""D Bar"" just up the street from my house. Maggie and Molly's red velvet blew them all away. The only problems I had with Mary (the owner) seemed to be a little bit of disorganization. Things like forgetting to email me a physical address to send the checks to, not responding to emails etc. I think she just does better with contact by phone but still seems a little harried at times. No problems at all with the final outcome and I still recommend her to everyone I know looking for baked goods!
Pros: red velvet
Cons: samples not always representative of real thing
