They saved my cat's life when he was very sick and needed medical attention. I love this clinic. The front desk is so knowledgable, and I feel so confident boarding my animals there as there is someone on site 24/7. I take my cat to Dr. Blair or Dr. Sammy, who are both so patient and caring. Dr. Blair used to specialize in only cats, and I feel very confident in everything she does. Dr. Sammy is like a walking encyclopedia of information. He is a solid vet, and you can tell he really knows his stuff. Thank you Suburban for all you do for my little ones. more

Suburban Animal Hospital has been more than wonderful. Dr Richard Sammy is our vet an a great surgeon. A specialist at the vet school recommended Suburban when we got our first puppy and we never left after our first visit. They take care of our dogs and we trust them and couldn't be happier. more

On 2/28/09, my service animal, Hunter, alerted that I was having problems while at the Gainesville VA Hospital. After an EKG it was determined that I would have to be admitted. We lived 70 miles south, no family and no one to call to come get Hunter. A call to Animal Control was placed; he was going to the dog pound. After waking from surgery I was notified that Hunter had been placed with DVM Kristin MacDonald, of Suburban Animal Hospital, that he had rode in the Animal Van until a foster home was found for him. Dr MacDonald took it upon herself to take Hunter home with her. My next four days were relaxing in knowing that Hunter was not caged somewhere, but in good hands. Thank you Dr. MacDonald. more

I left another "Great Animal Hospital" for Suburban. About 8 years ago I went to what was suppose to be the BEST animal hospital in Gainesville. The Dr. was just not friendly and told me that I should not reward my dog for bad behavior. The cost for the visit was too crazy even for a first visit. I left them for Suburban and so glad that I did. Dr. Blair was just what my dog needed. I have boarded my dog there several times and have never had a problem. Even during an emergency when they were not open after visiting the Emergency Hospital with our dog they were concerned when we returned to them the next day. more

I boarded my dog at Suburban recently and they failed to feed her properly, instead giving her only half of what she required each day. When I complained, no one seemed to care and would not even call me back to discuss why my dog was underfed. If you want your pet properly cared for, do not board them at Suburban. more

Suburban and Dr. Mark Coleman has been my vet for almost 30 years. They have taken excellent care of my pets and I trust them explicitly. Dr. Mark is the best!!! He has helped me and my animals through many illnesses and through their passings at old age. I recommend Suburban to all my friends. From the front desk to the techs and the other vets, they are the best. more

Though I do not like the hoity-toity, holier-than-thou attitudes of a few of the office staff, which sometimes border on the absurd. Weak points: ineffective communication between the various staff members and inaccurate information given about medications and their possible side effects, depending on whom you are dealing with; go online and read about side effects and complications. If there is ever a major problem that you decide to complain about, regardless of whether you are clearly in the right, don't expect much more than a "We're not perfect, and if you don't like it, go someplace else," even after you have spent many thousands of dollars there. I would have expected a slightly more classy response, all things considered. more

I have been taking my pets to Suburban Animal Hospital for over 20 years - they are the best! All the veterinarians and all the staff members are knowledgeable, caring and go the extra mile to make sure pets are taken care of in the best way possible! They fully explain any illnesses the pet may have plus carefully considering all options for treatment and helping pet owners decide on the best treatment for their pets. These vets almost killed my cat. While our cat was hospitalized at Suburban for a liver problem, she also developed a heart condition due to being improperly medicated and given too much fluid! The vets at Suburban had to take her to the UF Vet School because they realized that they had made her condition worse. (Thankfully after about two weeks at the Vet School my cat recovered.) We switched to All Cats for our standard vet care, and they helped us successfully manage her condition. Our cat lived as an insulin-dependent diabetic for another five years, until she was 17. more

A small veterinary practice with a great staff. All the technicians, clerical staff and doctors and so friendly and caring. I own 2 dogs, one of which is aggressive towards other dogs and the staff is so great about meeting us at the side door, getting us into a room quickly and being extra kind to the dog. The drs sit down and talk to you while they pet your animal...you don't feel like another person in and out, it is as though like enjoy meeting each animal for a few minutes. They are prompt with appointments and have hours later and before 8am for those that work and are open Saturdays as well. \r The Vets were very thorough in investigating all options in caring for my sick dog and got him better quickly! more
