This place is delightful! I never thought that a place could pack such a good time into such a small place but Lynn's has found the key to Chubb's lock. Though I had heard this place was unique, I underestimated the telepathically gifted and highly trained employees' desire to fulfill a customer's needs. Having never uttered a word to the staff, somehow my masseuse knew that I just love getting burned by hot stones. Not just hot to the touch, I like it when the stones are heated to at least twice the normal hot stone temps. And here my therapist did not disappoint. She generously cranked the temps and held nothing back. So you can imagine my delight when she tossed the volcanic stones onto my flesh, filling the room with the smell of my smoldering back. An alternative to the traditional aromatherapy, this version really made me feel like I was actively participating in the massage process. I was somewhat disappointed however, that I only left with 3 welts on my back, only 1 of which had a blister with size worthy of admiration and aloe. What more can a person really ask for though, really? Especially at such low pricing. I came with the assumption that I'd be served relaxation.....but Lynn's Day Spa gave me more excitement than a person could ever dream. Thanks again guys. Keep up the great work. more

Please avoid this place and go somewhere ELSE! If you check multiple review sites (not just yelp) you will find they have atrocious reviews. I went yesterday for a massage and facial and had a terrible experience. I've been 6 other times, always tip well, and everything went great so this was a big disappointment to me. I saw Lena and Marina yesterday (one for the facial and the other massage). During the massage I had to ask 4 times for her to avoid my lower back area and she kept going back to it (I've had 2 back surgeries and am cleared for massage but prefer to avoid that area). I also had to ask another 3-4 times for her to stop digging painfully into my body. All in all she seemed very untrained, miserable and unable to hear my concerns. I've never had to redirect a masseuse that many times for a one hour session! more

Horrible Spa - worst owner 2/17/2011

If I could give no rating that is what I would choose. Which does not include the tireless efforts, experience and work of the staff with the EXCEPTION of the two sassy, rude, and ditsy teenagers posing as receptionists. I found the spa on the groupon in clipper magazine. I called asked for a package one hour massage and facial, for my mom and me. I let her know I had a coupon and she (owner) quoted me at $125. After our massage and facial (very nice) we went to pay and they wanted to charge us $10 over for our service. Outrageous. They said since we had the coupon they were going to charge us individually for each item listed in the package. I asked to speak to the owner and they got her on the phone. I explained the situation and she bascially said that she was not going to hold up to her end. She not only misquoted and misrepresented her business , she had the audacity to say she was going to do ""whatever it takes"" to get the extra 10 dollars I refused to pay. I am not sure how she stays in business. more

Worst Spa 7/6/2010

I read the negative reviews and thought they just might be a little harsh. I signed up for a massages for my daughter and me. When we walked down the hall to the spa, the carpet was filthy, stained and the walls were just as bad. When we entered the ""spa"" there were stains all over the very small, crowded, dirty and messy reception area - if you can call it that! There were two teenaged girls who acted like they were doing us a favor by acknowledging our presence. Pros: Nothing more

Not great... 9/5/2009

Trying to make an appointment at this place is impossible. The teenage girls running the reception seem to enjoy telling you there are no appointments for the next month for the service you want, and then acting all surprised when you say no, that's not the service you asked for, then putting you on hold for ten minutes, then dropping the call, then making sure you speak to a different one of them when you call back and then putting you on hold again, while they 'check the book' (you can hear them giggling with each other in the background as they flick through the pages of the book very slowly, or their magazines, I am never sure). With all the new day spas opening in Columbia/Fulton, I assume these girls are actually working for the competition and trying to sabotage Lynn's, -- if they aren't, then someone in management really needs to get a clue and get them fired! Like the other reviewer, I find the services are fine although the pedicure/manicure area in the new location includes some weird pipe sucking noises and the pedicures in there are really good or mediocre depending on the technician. Massages have been generally ok, if a bit rushed, and facials ok also. I tried a lavender body polish also but found it a bit overpowering. I really don't like the new location it's very ""medical"" on the outside and doesn't put me in a relaxed mood. more

Save Your Money!! What a WASTE! 5/19/2008

I decided to treat myself to a relaxing day at the spa and saw that this spa was rated number 1. HAAAAA, what a joke! This spa should have been rated POOR! For starters, inside looks like an old house and it smells of cats and dogs. It must be that musty old carpet that is holding this horrific smell. I just couldn't get past it. They should greatly invest in scented candles and glade pluggins to at least TRY to cover up this horrendous odor if they are not going to invest in new carpeting. The rooms are cold and very uncomfortable. The techs that I had were very friendly. If it weren't for them, my experience would have been a TOTAL flop. Tracy was so funny and great to talk to. So we talked the entire time. My second tech was Kelly and she was also a nice and friendly person. Again, I just could not get past the smell or the coldness. The rooms looked so dirty and unclean. My rooms didn't even have Drapes on the windows..just the metal blinds...stained walls and ceilings. I barely wanted to touch anything. Nothing about this is relaxing, just plain WEIRD. I went to Spa in the Valley and had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience. One of the techs also agreed that it is a great spa (Spa in the Valley), but too pricey. I know now, to go with quality and not with affordability. Spa in the Valley...here I come...because Lynn's is for the birds...! I'm a very easy going person, not at all hard to please, but really, this so called spa is a little too lax and not at all professional. Its dirty, cheap looking, and outside of SOME friendly workers, not at all customer oriented. Save up your money and go to a more relaxing place. Read reviews first and you be the judge. Had I read you alls reviews first, I would NOT have chosen this place. Two thumbs and two toes DOWN! Pros: Affordable, Started on Time Cons: Dirty, Smelly, Unprofessional, Cold more

BAD BAD experience 6/3/2007

6/3/07 I surprised my husband with a facial and back waxing for his birthday at lynn's Day Spa he had no idea what he was getting. Guess what I got surprised with a service I didn't ask for. Brittney(receptionist) explained that the instructions were for a facial(correct) and back aera (what ? ) I didn't know Lynns' had a service that stated ""back aera. Brittney said there is nothing that can be done and I'm stuck with a charge of $120.00 which included a $10.00 tip to April. If there is no service that lynn's provide ""Back Area"" why wouldn't someone question this before proceeding. The front entrance, aera is too cramp/small and if its too many patrons the line is going to be outside. The Customer service I experienced today 6/3 was horrfic. There is no customer service recovery for this surprisingly well rated day spa. I've been to many dayspas and thought since this one has been rated soo well let me give it a try never again. Step outside of Howard County and theres a whole world of top rated luxious spas with open, friendly, waiting to pamper your for as little as an hour or more. I'll continue to enjoy the spas I've been going to. This was my husband's first spa experience and he did say the facial was good but she talked too much this spa is so so so overrated. Cons: Too small, No customer serivce skills more

bad ambience, decent service 5/19/2007

I have mixed feelings about this spa. Some aspects of it sucked. The waiting area and the cafeteria style drinks did not make me feel very luxurious. I felt like I was in a cheap motel even with the peaceful new age music playing. The building itself looked like a cabin/lodge. The staff dumps all their dirty towels on the floor in the laundry room near/right outside where the clients wait. Pros: Good massage, decent services rendered Cons: Bad ambience, long wait time between procedures more

Bad Service 8/29/2006

I went to Lynn's Day Spa in columbia for my birthday with a friend of mine. We both got pedicures done at the same time. The lady i had went fast on my massage and didn't get all the rough edges off my heels. i was MAD! and they usually cost 35 bucks!! so i called the front desk and told them about my problem and the lady said all she can do is transfer me to someone's voicemail and they will return my call... well its been 2 weeks and i still havn't gotten a call. Also i went back to get my nails done and i got a different person. she also went to fast and took 20 minutes on my nails!! she went too fast and i got those bubbles in my manicure which drives me nuts! well i am never going back to that Lynn's day spa ever again!. Pros: no pros Cons: service and timing more

Rude, Sloppy and Poor Service 8/13/2006

I took the day off from work for a series of appointments that would total to about three hundred dollars in services and gratuities. more

Uneasy experience 3/11/2006

I went to Lynn's Day Spa after receiving a gift certificate. My massage was fabulous by Lisamaya. However the facial was mediocre. I put my clothes back on between services because it was frigid in the waiting area. My manicure and pedicure was rushed. To make matters worse when I checked out, I was almost overcharged for having my eyebrows waxed which also weren't great. The TEENAGE check out girls had no concern of my issue of being overcharged. I would only recommend this place for a massage and only if it is during the weekdays, because I heard that it is a little better and maybe you can get a true hour of any services. Pros: great massage, great location Cons: delay in service, lack of concern, cold rooms more

Mediocre 3/11/2006

Going to Lynn's has some very blatant pros and cons. Its convenience can't be beat- they can usually fit you in for any service at any time on relatively short notice. The staff is polite and prompt. However, as someone else mentioned they tend to cut appointment times short. Also, while some staff seem to be well trained and knowledgable, others seem quite unskilled and inexperienced. Sometimes the front desk staff is rude. Overall, Lynn's day spa is OK but there are much better options in the Baltimore and Columbia areas. Pros: Convenience, Variety of services Cons: Inconsistant quality more

Lynn's Day Spa, Columbia 3/7/2006

My husband gave me a $250 gift certificate, so I used it for a series of facials. The woman who has done them is out of this world! Although, once she was not there and another woman did the Perfect Peel facial and burned the hell out of my face, I was red and peeling for about four days, but I think that is the excelption. Atmosphere is great, except for the snotting receptionist girls who work in the evenings, they ruin the experience every time I check out. If it wasn't for the fabulous staff doing the procedures I probably wouldn't go back. A bad experience at the end is what lingers. Pros: No waiting!, Great atmosphere, Great hours Cons: Receptionists, Expensive more

User review by spitchy1 7/18/2005

I paid for a one hour massage that ended up being only 40 minutes long. When questioned, I was told they have to factor in ""dress time."" The staff at the front desk did not seem concerned that I was not pleased with my service. The massage was mediocre at best. The place was quiet, but not at all pleasing to the eye. Pros: quiet Cons: average service, bland atmosphere, poor customer service more

A Day of Relaxation 7/5/2005

My cousin and I were searching for a local spa and was referred to Lynn's. We both received the hour massage and hour facial. The massage was good however the facial was excellent. This was my first facial because I thought that only people with skin problems got facials. I was so wrong. My facial was so relaxing and just an incredible experience. This is a highly recommended service. Pros: Hours, atmosphere, Friendly staff more
