Melissa B. one of those stylists you always hope to find but never really expect to. The creativity just kind of flows -- she makes it look so easy! I've walked out twice with EXACTLY what I asked for both times, and it was accomplished with great skill. I have thick, course, difficult hair but her cut lays in perfectly blow dry after blow dry. She gave my color great dimension and in the exact shade I requested. Walked out of there one happy woman and, without question, will go back. Feels great to sit confidently into a stylist's chair instead of praying they won't screw it up. The salon is great as well. Uptown but not artificially shee-shee. Very comfortable & artsy. Every star is well deserved. more

Wow Thank you Melissa B. !!! You rock. After seeing you on sunday, you did a consultation and that made me even more confident than after already reading the reviews. I came with my awfull damaged color hair and get out with a great color hair cut ! It;s to bad I cannot show my before / after pictures to see how you work! You are professionnal, explain everything you will do and when you are doing it. I'm normally nervous to go to hairdresser, mine is in France where I come from but I won't go for a while. I had a good time during the 2 hours, I loved speaking with you. I find you and I keep you ! You gave my color and cut back and I enjoy it !!!!! I only agree about the comments for the receptionnist, thanks god you are there for the good vibes ! more

Melissa is the best! 10/13/2011

Melissa is the absolute best! I have really curly hair and went through awful haircut after even more awful haircut from people who claimed to know how to cut curly hair. I sat down in Melissa's chair and told her I didn't care what she did, I just wanted a good haircut. I haven't let anyone else touch my hair since and I even started making my mom (the source of my curly-haired woes) go to Melissa! Melissa listens to what you want and never pushes anyone into a haircut they aren't ready for. She also always has great tips on new (inexpensive) products! more

Best Haircut/Color Ever! 10/9/2011

I travel from Orange County to Westwood regularly because I finally found a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair! I now love my curls after finding Melissa. She is the best! I highly recommend her for all hair types. more

Melissa is absolutely wonderful. 4/18/2011

The first time she met me, my hair had been dyed and processed so many times that it was a greenish blonde. I've been with her a year now and she has transformed my hair to become healthy and soft with the color I have always wanted. She is great with highlights and cutting longer hair into a layered style. I now get compliments daily about how great my hair looks and questions about who I go to. I always recommend Melissa. Not to mention, Melissa has such a wonderful personality and a great attitude. She works very hard and her expertise is worth every penny. more

Melissa is the most fantastic stylist I've ever been to and could ever dream of! Before Melissa, I had gone to a stylist who had ruined my hair. Melissa transformed my previously awful haircut and color and made it beautiful and amazing! Melissa is great with highlights and has the best eye for color. She does a great job with blondes (thank you Melissa!). Melissa is also so kind and genuine, with such a fun personality. I actually look forward to getting my hair done because it's such a blast chatting with Melissa! All I can say is that I hope Melissa never leaves because that would make me very very sad... I might just have to follow her. :) Thanks, Melissa! more

Aweson Color - Great Atmosphere 7/16/2010

I’ve been to Melissa B twice and have had fantastic results. I am prematurely grey and wanted to cover it and still have a natural looking appearance. She gave me the perfect color (and cut) from the first visit. I have received so many compliments. She is a pleasure to talk to during the visit and the salon is clean and professional. Melissa also gave me great advice on the products I should be using, but don’t feel like she is talking me into anything or just trying to sell products, in fact she told me which drug store products were pretty good and that I could use. I would recommend Melissa to anyone who is looking for a stylist, especially if you color your hair. more

Fabulous! 11/12/2009

She's awesome! I went to get my haircut a while back - finally got around to posting this review. All I can say is that she's got skills! I showed her a picture and she gave me just that and all in less than 30 minutes! She's a genius with her scissors. The best part is that she doesn't try to sell you anything and she shows a genuine interest in her clients. I'm currently out of state in NV, but I will travel all the way to LA to have my hair cut by Melissa. more

Melissa does a wonderful job! I visit the LA area a few times a year and I always look forward to getting my hair cut by her. The cut is great and she is great, it is always exactly what I want. Transformation Complete! 6/29/2009

I went to Melissa for the first time two weeks ago and she gave me "low lights" to cover my gray and some great blonde highlights. She also gave me a cool rocker haircut. Now I look like I always wanted to when I was young! Too bad I didn't know a great hair stylist like Melissa. Highly recommended and I will be back! more
