My family member was sent to Linden Oaks after an overdose and got the WORST mental help care ever!!! The therapist/social worker did absolutly nothing to help with insurance issues and placement after being asked many times-she said it wasn't her area of expertise and referred us to no one. The therapist/social worker also told my family member and I that we were racking up quite a bill at $1350 a day, I don't think this guilt should be put on anyone ,especially someone who has no insurance and is mentally unstable. My family member was released unstable, medications not adjusted and homeless to the streets and let to drive. This family member ended up in an accident right across the street and was so unstable the police wouldn't let him drive ,he was also in an accident the next day. This person ended up STILL suicidal and turned to alcohlol that day. When I called the doctor I was told to take him to another hospital ER for this, not there own hospital. On the discharge planning sheet, which was not discussed with any family, things were written such as;stable condition(his doctor said he had poor decision making and therefor was ALWAYS at risk for suicide), discharged to home(he was homeless),and transportation- me(even though they knew he was driving himself). I think things were just written to cover their butt in case of an issue. I do plan to take this to the upper management of Linden Oaks to hopefully prevent this from happening to anyone else. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone,!!!Please think twice before letting any of your loved ones go to this facility. It is a real shame that the mental health care in our country is so poor and people that really need help can't it.
