On a whim (a very calculated whim, though), I decided to go get my nose pierced. I didn't tell anyone, I just went. It was my first experience with paying for pain, only I had no idea it would hurt. So I went in, cash in hand, and sat down. The man who pierced my nose asked if I was scared, to which I replied surprisingly, 'Should I be?' He said never mind, counted to three and punched a large needle through my nose. Tears involuntarily came out of my eyes which had never happened before. He told me they were crocodile tears. Huh, I thought. And since then I have adored my nose ring and the story about it. I didn't feel square (even though I was) and my nose healed perfectly (thanks to clear instructions). I'll never do it again because it hurt, but that's my own fault.
