Horse "Museum" 12/29/2005

Kentucky Horse Park could almost be likened to a Horse "Museum." It has statues and history about the horse greats and great horses. There is a display about the use of horses through time, and the big attraction are all of the live horses. The park cares for and displays many, many breeds of horse. Do not miss the breed show when you are here - there are even some opportunities to pet the horses. The park is expansive and also houses a few champions who have won millions in purse money. A lovely family attraction. more

For a fun Saturday afternoon go here. 8/19/2005

The Kentucky horse park is a great place to go with the family. There are activities for all age groups. Throughout the year there are different exhibits and expos that go on. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend spending an afternoon walking the grounds. The scenery is very calming. It is located just off interstate 75 south of Georgetown and just North of Lexington. more

Horse Paradise 8/4/2005

If you are a horse lover, then the Kentucky Horse Park is the spot you must visit. The beautiful rolling hills with the white fences for miles. Lots of parking, but you do pay a fee for that. There is a park fee you pay, but that does gain you entrance to the museums as well as walking around the park to see riding demonstrations, parade of breeds and other equine events. more

AWESOME EQUINE VACATION SPOT 8/3/2005

The KY Horse Park is a fabulous vacation spot for those who love horses or just love to be around them. It is in the heart of the beautiful bluegrass country of Lexington. There are numerous breeds - both common and rare - living at the park. Trail riding. Lots of demonstrations and shows on a regular basis. more

The Kentucky Horse Park - something for everyone! :) 8/3/2005

The Kentucky Horse Park is a vast, completely gorgeous place that the whole family can enjoy. If you like horses, you're going to love this place!! They have some famous ex-racehorses stabled there (Cigar, John Henry), as well as a wide assortment of breeds of horses. There is always some event going on, such as polo or show jumping. They have several wonderful "museums" to visit, as well as a phenomenal gift shop. It has a lot of historical value as far as horses go....I highly recommend it!! more

Home of famous racehorses, a museum, and horse shows and events 7/26/2005

The Kentucky Horse Park is a beautiful tribute to Kentucky's thoroughbred horse industry. While at the park, you can tour the International Museum of the Horse, visit famous retired racehorses at the Hall of Champions, see the film "Thou Shalt Fly Without Wings," go on a trail ride or attend educational programs for artists and anyone involved in an equine career. The Horse Park also has a campground, where they have hosted events as varied as a Renaissance Faire to benefit an animal shelter, and the annual summer Festival of the Bluegrass. There are numerous events posted on their calendar online. I recommend the Egyptian Event to any Arabian horse enthusiasts, and the Junior League Horse Show for anyone who likes to see horses do more than just sprint down a racetrack. There is a small cafeteria-style restaurant on the grounds as well. A great destination for both kids and adults, both eductional and entertaining. more
