Katherine's French Bakery

Katherine's is overrated and doesn't taste like it is cooked by real chefs. If you want all of the attitude but none of the quality Katherine's is the place to go. I tried to give it a chance because I live close by. The quiche is heavy and dry and the cakes taste like sugar water with no flavor. Cookies are better at a supermarket. Also it is one of the places that the staff gives you the impression that they couldn't care less if you are a customer or not. Nearby, Trompeau offers much better quality baked goods that have flavor. but the best is Andre's Confiserie Suisse. My friends confessed to me that the christmas cookies that I gave them from Katherine's were regifted by them- not yummy at all. I didn't blame them when I tasted one. more

Wow! I didn't realize that Katherine's was more than a bakery until I went. I have enjoyed lunch with the girls, a weekend rendezvous with my boyfriend, and takeout meals on many occasions. I love the lattes and chocolate croissants. The owners will usually come out front to say hello and the place has a warm and friendly atmosphere. I like to visit places where I don't feel rushed...and this is true of Katherine's. I also think that the prices are more than fair (compared to other bakery/cafes). The quality is amazing! Not only are the pastries awsome, there is so much more offered. The salads and sandwiches are delicious. A must try--the Ahi Tuna salad. Katherine and Chef Mario provide fantastic service to boot. Highly recommended. Pros: Good parking, Friendly Service, Good food more
