Honestly, he is the by FAR the BEST MATH TUTOR EVER!!!!!! 8/18/2008

what can i say? was failing UT calc the first time I took it; retook it this summer, guess what? I made a high B! why? patrick, patrick, patrick! he knows his stuff, forwards and backwards. he is so relaxed. simple, clear, concise explanations. he is a big confidence booster too; i was all like ' i can not do this stuff ' and he was like ' chill. of course you can' and he was right. he made me believe in myself. math, i now PWN you. i was so happy with him, i gave him an extra $50 gift certificate to go out to eat at a place he sometimes talked about... i mean, when was the last time you did that for your math tutor? get patrick, you will be happy u did. Pros: most perfect math teacher / tutor on the face of this earth more

Really Nice. Very Knowledgeable. Very Flexible 3/22/2008

I am currently taking a calculus class at acc and was really having a hard time. My teacher, although nice, is not the best in the world. i found out that patrick teaches at acc (i really, really, really wish he was my teacher) and also does tutoring. since i could not have him for a teacher, i was happy that i could get his help anyways. boy, does this guy know his calculus. we sat down and he immediately got to business. he told me what i was doing right and wrong and what i needed to go home and do if i was going to succeed in the class (i forgot some basic derivative stuff!). he was very nice, but he did not 'sugar coat' things - he told me just what i needed to do. after going home and practicing some old stuff, while staying on top of things with him help, my grade has improved from a D to a B in just over 6 weeks. now, it looks like i do not have to retake this class and i can keep going forward! he is really great. he has also been very flexible with my schedule which is nice cause i work crazy hours. i would recommend him to anyone needing help with math. Pros: Smart. Nice. Flexible schedule more

Really Great Math Tutor. 12/12/2007

Hey Patrick! I took my math final today - I am a UT student for all those out there!, and I nailed it. I have never walked out of a math test feeling so good. I just wanted to say 'thanks' for all your help, I could not have done it without you. I alsmost wish I had to take another math class -almost that is. Once again, thank you so so much. Best of luck in all that you do. I will tell everyone about you that should ever need a math tutor! You were the absolute best. Pros: Super Super Super Super. Did I mention he is super? Cons: No more

We love Just Math Tutoring too! 12/7/2007

My daughter is a student at Griffin High School. She was never great in math, but this year, she was really struggling. When her grade dropped to a low D, she was very upset and basically gave up on the class. We had tried a couple other tutors, but she said they did not seem to help her, so we would stop using them and she would try again on her own. I told her that whoever we found next we had to keep and work with since she was not making it on her own. Fortunately, we found Patrick at Just Math Tutoring! He helped her the day before a test for a couple of hours and she ended up making a 91% on it! We were all pretty amazed (to go from low D's to a low A). He is very relaxed and knowledgable. My husband and I both really like him, and more importantly, so does our daughter. Not only has her grades continued to go up, he has more importantly given her the confidence back that she was lacking. Instead of seeing herself as not that strong of a math student, she now strives to be one of the best on every test. What a difference this guy has made! If you need a math tutor, look no further. If only all of our teachers were this good...! Pros: Knows a lot, very nice, casual and relaxed Cons: None more

FULLY AGREE WITH THE OTHER REVIEWS - PATRICK AT JMT ROCKS!!! 11/28/2007

Simply amazing! That is all I can say about this guy (get Patrick, he is the best, not sure if there are other tutors too though!). I wish I had found this guy a few months ago. After struggling in my math class, I went over to House of Tutors and they were miserable. My first tutor was just rude, the second was rather clueless, and the third was rude and clueless. Enough of that I thought. Fortunately, my mom found 'Just Math Tutoring' on the 'net, so we figured we would give him a try. When working with Patrick, we did more in an hour session than in my other 4 hours combined at House of Tutors (where do they get those people from anyways?). He has a masters (I think) in math and has taught college and you can really tell. I was just amazed at his knowledge! He seemed to know everything about everything math! I am hoping with his help I can salvage the rest of my grade for the semester. After working with him only 3 times, I made my best grade ever on my math test this semester, an 89! Not an A, but better than my second highest grade of a 56 before I met him. If I could, I would stand on a mountain and sing his praise to all others who need some math help. (Really, this guy was just that great!!!!!) Did I mention he is a rather funny, normal, and super nice guy. He is the type of guy you would not mind hanging out with even if you were NOT doing math! Pros: so smart, so nice, so good at explaining to me Cons: are you kidding? this guy ROCKS! more

Math Super Star! 9/12/2007

Have you ever wanted to hug and kiss your math tutor? Well, me either until now! This guy is soooooooo good. Why? He is a normal, down to earth, funny, comforting person. Did I mention he knew soooooo much? Not only did he explain stuff in a way that I understood, he explained why it was not quite as dull and boring as I thought it was. He gets excited about math, but in a good way. : ) It is infectious! I like it too now! Maybe it was cause I made my first A ever though! Whatever it was, I would recommend Patrick at Just Math Tutoring to any in Austin who needs help! Pros: Soooo smart, funny, caring - everything a good math tutor should be! more

Best Math Tutor in Austin! 8/27/2007

Let me say that I am not really a 'math person' although I do like it... it is just challenging for me. As an entering freshman at UT Austin, I was more than a bit nervous about some of the math classes but a lot less so than before! I ran into Patrick at a local coffee shop. He was sitting there with his 'Just Math Tutoring' t-shirt so I figured I would ask him about it. It turned out he was the guy that did the tutoring and let me say, he was so relaxed, funny, and reassuring, not to mention he REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF! Of course, the most important part is that he could explain it to me in a way that really clicked with me. What I really wanted was a bit of a refresher before school started. We later got together and reviewed some algebra (he said this is where people typically end up struggling in a Calculus class) along with introducing some of the calc. concepts that I would encounter. He was right: my algebra was rusty at best. We worked through some problems that he said I could anticipate later encountering. At the end of our session, I felt like I had re-learned two years of math that I had forgotten. Later, he was also kind enough to email me a list of stuff he said that would be important for me to look over. To make a long story short, I would recommend this guy to anyone! In talking to him, it seems he just moved from Nashville where he had previously taught at Vanderbilt (great school too!). All I can say is that Nashville's loss is Austin's gain! I will certainly be in touch with him again soon once classes get going! Go Patrick and go Just Math Tutoring! Great, great, great! Pros: Great instruction, great personality, very knowledgeable, and was happy to meet me on short notice too! Cons: None at all more

Awesome -est Math Guy EVER! 8/27/2007

Patrick rocks. I really do not know what I would have done this past school year without this guy. Sylan did not help, nor did the other tutors I worked with before I ran across him. Everyone else was the typical boring old math person. But not Patrick, he is super cool and super smart to! He brought me up from an F to a B-, do not ask me how he did it, he is some sort of mathmagician! If I where rich, I would have paid him so that he did not move to Austin. : ( Come back Patrick, Nashville misses you! : ) Pros: This guy was the nicest smartest math person I ever seen Cons: notta more
