I was new to the area, but Inwood Park seemed to be a decent place to live. After a couple months of living there, I heard 5 gunshots. After a whole night of police running around with bullet-proof vests, the SWAT team sitting behind trees and being confined to my apartment, i found out that an ex war veteran shot a woman police officer three times in the chest. I could see his apartment and the whole scene from my living room window. It got worse from here.. the toilet was always overflowing, there were cockroaches, I couldn't go out on my balcony because there were 4 continuous wasp nests. I had a growing fear of living here. After 6 months, my gate key didn't work and I was unable to get another one (they wanted to charge me another fee). I left for vacation for 4 days and when I came back, I could not get into my apartment.. as if someone had changed the lock without my permission or any notification. I notified the management right away (on a saturday) and they said, either wait until monday or call a locksmith..what??!! Monday I returned, ask for help and the leasing specialist said that its very possible that someone climbed onto my balcony, broke in, stole some of my belongings, and changed the lock...what??!!! She said, ""yes, it's true, i've known it to happen.. well, not here, but other places. They get in through the sliding glass door"". How was I supposed to feel safe after these incidents?? Unfortunately, I was locked into the lease and could not leave.. but I DO NOT advise anyone to live here. Not only that.. it is WAY over-priced. For $800.00 a month, you can find something much better in another part of Tampa.
