In ShortWedged into an empty space between the casino and the parking garage of the Venetian is famed architect Rem Koolhaas' design for the Guggenheim's Las Vegas branch: a massive "big box" that features 64,000 square feet of exhibition space, and features a "mega-door" that is the second-largest hinge door in the world (the first being the door to the Space Shuttle's hangar.) It's a big space for big exhibitions, and represents the venerable museum's attempt to create a world-wide network of art spaces in unlikely places.
