Golf professional: Barry Milstead
Course description: The course is laid out among stands of cottonwoods. It offers subtle mounds in the fairways with elevated tees and greens. The large greens break away from the mountains toward the valley. Abundant wildlife can be seen, such as deer, elk, antelope and bison.
Signature hole: No. 8 608 yards, par 5. A dogleg left with native grass in play the entire hole. Rolling mounds define the fairway with two lakes and a creek affecting play.
Best birdie chance: No. 11 523 yards, par 5. A downhill hole is reachable in two if one avoids the fairway bunker.
Play policy: No restrictions on public play, although priority is given to resort guests. Carts are not required; the 90-degree cart rule is followed when used. Walking is allowed and pull carts are available. Proper golf attire required; cutoffs, swimwear or athletic wear is not allowed. Spikeless shoes are not required.
Reservation policy: Tee times may be made in advance as necessary.
Directions: Take U.S. 160 west from Interstate 25 toward Alamosa. At Colorado 150, go north 12 miles to the course.
