Golden Gate Fields was a new place that I went to in the spring. I wasn't big on horseracing before, but now is another story. This track offers many other things other than horseracing to keep someone entertained like incredible views and a lively atmosphere. The workers there are very friendly and helpful and the setting can not be beat. The grounds are well groomed and the view from the parking lot is awesome! Pros: Surprisingly Fun more

Best Place to Take People 7/14/2008

If you're bored with your college buddies, being hassled by your children to do something ""fun,"" or are looking for a place to impress your friends from out of town then I suggest making a trip to Golden gate Fields ractrack. Pros: Incredible Views, Entertaining, Cheap Fun, Kid-Friendly as well as Fan Friendly, Live Music, Safe more

Golden Gate Fields is a place that college students can enjoy! 7/7/2008

Golden Gate Fields is so much fun! I went to ""$1 Day"" where everything is only a dollar, even BEER! No wonder I see so many college students out there. This place won't hurt your pocket and if you're luckey might even pay you for coming if you bet a winning horse! In addition to live racing, they offer live music from bands like Tainted Love, and I have to say this track gets a lot of people dancing... it basically becomes a party! Man, if the beach doesn't sound fun, parking in the City seems rediculous, then make it out to Golden Gate Fields. It's cheap, exciting, and always has something fun going on! Pros: Cheap, Gambling (18 yrs. +), and Fun Crowd more

    One of two Bay Area racetracks, Golden Gate alternates a year-round racing schedule with Bay Meadows. Local handicappers say that Golden Gate favors front-runners and speedball horses, which seems to be some kind of euphemism for horses that lack endurance, but most horses that run at Golden Gate also run at Bay Meadows, and anyway, none of them are exactly Triple Crown contenders.
