Overpriced seafood..AVOID 5/25/2008

Went to restaurant t to celebrate after a gratuation.Impressed water came right away..never saw our waiter after that. It was about 8:45 PM on a Friday evening. Maybe 5 other tables with customers. We finially received our cold calamari which was chewy and sushi (delicious). After calling down another waiter to find ours our order was taken. The kids jumbo fried shrimp plate was overpriced but they seemed to enjoy it. My halibut was a special of the night and was tasteless, all the other fish plates ordered that evening were awful. Passed on the overpriced dessert, hunted our waiter down to pay the bill which was over $200.00, three kids, three adults. No wine ordered only one draft beer. more

Great Place to dine for a romantic evenining 3/31/2008

My husband and I were celebrating our annivesary we arrived the lady at the front counter was nice, her faced was covered with a smile, we need a seat for two, she seated us in the front of the restraunt, every waitor/waitress that passed by greated us with smiles, however we sat down for almost 15 minutes before we were asked what we would like to eat, however are glasses were constantly being filled with water, my husband asked who was suppose to take are order, they were surprised at the fact that we have not ordered yet so the manager came and apologized, the cook sent over free suchi and it was great my husband and I didnt mind the wait because we got a chance to have a lovable conversation, the champagne was great we ordered seafood lasagne it was great, although we had to wait for a few minutes my husband and I would go back, it was a friendly, romantic enviroment and customer service was good. Pros: parking, smiles, friendly, food, setup, clean restrooms, lounge, Cons: limit the time that customers have to wait before ordering more

Do not waste your money and time 3/13/2008

My boyfriend and I like to try different restaurant almost every day of the week(we do not have time to cook because of schedule conflict). We love seafood and like to hang out in Adision area. Go Fish sound interesting for us...we were excited when we were greet at the door. The restaurant wasnt too buzy on a Tuesday night. We sat at our table to for about 15 minutes and didnt even get a menu...We tried to not let other people ruin our fun so we decided not to get upset...There were a lot of waiters staring at us and didnt do anythign about it. Finally a waiter came and ask us ""What can I do for you?""...he didnt even apologize about not giving us our menu...(other couple came in after us and got their mune were sitting right next to us)...15 minutes later he took our order. I ordered scallops and grill veggie...and my bf ordered grill salmon and steam veggie...My order came out wrong the scallops taste no better than tofu..it has no taste...and the salmon was over cooked...it taste like the left over from the day before....we cant get a hold of our waiter to complain because he dropped off our food and disappeared while other waiter just standing there watching the air....it was the worst service and food i've ever had. You will have a better food at a fast food restaurant....WE WILL NEVER AGAIN COME NEAR THIS RESTAURANT.... Cons: EVERYTHING, SERVICE, FOOD AND DRINK. WE WONT COME BACK EVEN EVERYTHING IS FREE AT THAT RESTAURANT more

Less than mediocre food! 9/7/2007

We dined at Go Fish last evening (9/7/07) and were looking forward to good seafood , based on several reviews we had read. Unfortunately Long John Silvers would have been a better choice. The waiter highly recommended the scallops and ""asparagus"" ?? risotto. The scallops were breaded in something undefinable and had absolutely no flavor. Ditto for the gummy risotto which did not appear to have any asparagus involved. We actually kept salting our food to try and develop any flavor at all. Pros: absolutely none Cons: very mediocre/poor food, outrageous wine prices more

5 Star Rating 8/15/2007

I heard good reviews about this restaurant so I decided to take my picky eating boyfriend to Go Fish for his birthday. For starters we ordered the calamari and it was to die for with the perfectly crispy & soft. Then he ordered the lobster tail which was fantastic and I got the salmon which was grilled perfectly. Then we shared their creme brulee it was so romantic. I absolutely recommend Go Fish! Pros: everything more

No 'star' rating 5/3/2007

Go Fish is a 'what' star restaurant...good grief it was storming, the wait staff out numbered the customers (3 couples) and we had to ask for water 4 times...asked to decant the wine and he poured a glass...'cold' cloths (it was in the 60's with the thunderstorm)...a chowder is ""thick"" theirs is runny. Crabcakes are seared in mayo base...a bit mushy.....Entree,,,,,not so good... lobster potato cold (and the lobster must have swam away, no taste) halibut firm but too cool on temp...asked 4 times for cocktail napkin to write on,,geez a little service please...and espresso should be served hot in a demi tasse, not a cold mug and luke warm...believe it or not. they actually asked us to fill out a comment card...silly peeps! Never to return..over priced and pathetic proper service for such a ""star"" rating Pros: door service Cons: food and knowledge of 'proper' service more

looks ain't everything 3/3/2007

go fish has some of the freshest seafood in dallas, so it's a shame that everything we ordered was completely bland. lifeless crab cakes were served with an aioli that could only be described as ""off white"" flavor; even the accompanying microgreen salad was dry! sea bass in saffron broth, though jaundiced, tasted as if it was marinated in tap water. a jerk-seasoned snapper also seemed devoid of essence (the shiraz they recommended along side it would have overpowered it completely). in the end, go fish may be best described as all flash and no substance. Pros: fresh seafood Cons: no flavor more

Execrable service, indifferent manager. 2/27/2007

Passable food, terrible service. Went for my wife's birthday with reservation, given table next to the kitchen, when we objected, were seated in the bar and then ignored. Waitstaff was invisible. Waited over 45 minutes for entrees which were, by then, lukewarm. When we complained to the manager, were treated with indifference. We were so aggravated, we didn't leave a tip. Would never go back and would not recomend. There are many other good seafood restaurants in Dallas to choose from. Pros: Food is pretty good Cons: Service is awful. more

Great food 2/2/2007

We went there for a special ocassion. Had to make reservations. The food is great. Like all reviewers say - fresh seafood and prompt service The ambience is so-so. Have seen much better ambience for the price range of food served. Pros: Good seafood Cons: Expensive, poor ambience, Mostly 40+ crowd more

Pros: romantic, sexy, beatifull people Cons: only 3 conner tables more

Management was rude. 5/19/2006

The food was ok, if you like just plain grillled fish. I had a problem with the temperature of my scallops and asked for the manager to come over. I explained that my dish was not as hot as i'd like it to be, and she rolled her eyes at me and snatched the plate from in front of me. I was shocked. I'll never go back. Pros: Seating, Valet Cons: Management more

Seafood Lover? This is the place to come! 5/18/2006

I am a huge seafood lover and I can be tough to impress, but I really enjoyed my meal at Go Fish! I had the mussels to begin and amazing scallops. It was a great meal, I'll be back soon! Pros: Food, Ambiance more

Unexpected disappointment 5/8/2006

From all the good reviews I've read about Go Fish, I expected an impressive dining experience. That was not the case. As my husband and I entered, the hostess did not even acknowledge us. She was sitting at the bar watching TV. We were seated and the waitress came to us to say she'd be a minute because she was busy. When she returned, I asked her what kind of drink specials there were, she shrugged her shoulders and said that the drinks were in the back of the wine list. While we ordered our meals I could tell she wasn't paying much attention to us. The Louis salad was really good. Dinner was average. The grouper was very fishy tasting. My husband enjoyed his overcooked ribeye, So all was not lost. At the end of our meal the waitress threw down the check and didn't even offer more coffee. Pros: Quick Cons: Service, Food, atmosphere more

Not what i was expecting... 5/6/2006

Entering the restaurant, I was greeted by what seemed to be a depressed hostess, who did not smile the entire time i was there. She seated us in a table that couldn't be more that 6 inches away from another table. The waiter greeted my date and i by my last name, which i felt to be inappropriate for the situation. The salads we ordered took almost 20 minutes to get to the table. The salads were great, but not worth the wait. After what seemed to be another 30 minutes, our main course arrived. The plates were hotter than that of the food itself. My swordfish was over cooked. My date ordered the parmesan scallops and said the risotto tasted like it had been sitting out all night. The best thing about the place was the service, but when i go to a restaurant, i'm expecting good food. Pros: Service more

5 Stars 5/4/2006

I've never been impressed by a restaurant enough to take the time and submit a review until now. Simply put, Go Fish is a top notch restaurant - great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. When I called in a reservation for a colleague's birthday lunch, the general manager was gracious enough to provide complimentary transportation to and from - in a stretch limo! That was the beginning of a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience which started with an entertaining and attentive waiter and culminating with an assortment of fabulous desserts. High marks to the new general manager who made sure that all our needs were being met. We are already making plans on returning for a dinner outing and to experience their after hours entertainment scene. Highly recommended! Pros: cuisine, atmosphere, service more

Valentine's Day 3/4/2006

The Valet parking was excellent, the bartender just as good, the waiter did a nice job. Maybe they were trying to feed too many people on this particular night and the kitchen staff was overworked, but our food was not good. I had the halibut and it was tough. It was as if it had been prepared earlier and was just warmed up. The others at my table had nothing good to say about the food. I hope this is an isolated experience and that we were the exception. more

This place is incredible.... 1/20/2006

I've never been impressed by any restaurant, until I went to Go Fish. My wife and I went out for our anniversary, hoping to find a nice upscale casual setting where we could have a romantic evening. As we were seated, our waiter greeted us by name and recognized it was our anniversary. That was impressive. We took his suggestion on having a glass of champagne to celebrate. When it was time to order our food, the waiter convinced my wife to try the horseradish salmon. She absolutely loved this dish. I had the parmesan scallops and it was so delicious that it would be difficult to put into words. Ending our meal, the waiter brought out the key lime pie that we ordered, with Happy Anniversary written on it and a candle burning. I just couldn't believe we could receive personal attention at a busy place like this. Pros: Service, Food Cons: Ambience more

wonderful food, not so wonerful service 11/16/2005

Brought good friends from out of town to Go Fish. This place was recommend and was my first time dining here. Arrived at scheduled reservation and seated prompty. The atmosphere was soothing and pleasing until our waitress came. We made corrections on our drink order (non-alcoholic) and was rudely recieved. Down hill from there! After the correction, the waitress still forgot the hot tea, we waited for 10 minutes and had to reask for the tea. She returned rudely to put down the hot tea, left our table and a different waiter came for the food order. The food tasted great. That saved the evening howerver I will not return to a place that I am not welcomed. The orginal rude waitress only came back to take our paycheck! I value my own personal guests when they are in town but this restaurant did not value me as a guest! Pros: food tasted great, avg menu price Cons: rude wait staff, crowded dining, crowded parking more
