This was the worst 11/8/2008

I'm not sure why others voted this place as a five star, it was just down right nasty. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. (should of made me think twice) The food was nothing like any mexican food I've ever had, the menu was filled with ""american"" mexican like nachos. The beans were soupy, I'm not sure how anybody can mess up beans. The enciladas had very dry meat, the sauces were very bland, and the rice was crunchy. This food was not that cheap as far as mexican food is concerned...I mean it was about ten bucks for a lunch which for what you get is a little overpriced. To top it off the service sucked, which I couldn't figure out because we were the only people in there. BEWARE...I would never step foot in there again. Pros: Location Cons: Service, Food, Parking more

Best Authentic Mexican in the city 1/24/2008

Good prices, amazing food, wonderful staff and some of the best dancing on the weekends (SALSA!!!) makes this restaurant the most enjoyable and by far the tastiest in Seattle. I would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys to eat. There has not been a single item on their menu I've eaten that I didn't love. Pros: Flavor, Flavor, Flavor!! They'll spice it up to as hot as you want! more

NEW OWNERS - AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD 7/26/2007

NEW OWNERSHIP FOR ONE YEAR - authentic food (I lived in the Colorado and Texas and have friends who taught me to make REAL Mexican food) - warm, friendly, attentive service. Great home-made salsa. These people are doing a good job - inexpensive lunches, large portions, varied dinner menu. Don't miss the entirely home-made tortilla soup - about $4 for a bowl (they call it a cup) and a meal in itself - I had to take my lunch home. The owners are both the front of the house as well as the back - if there is something not to your liking (can't imagine), just let them know and they will fix it. They are trying to straddle the line between Azteca like people expect and authentic Mexican-style food - encouage them to go for authentic!!! Pros: authentic food, great service Cons: inherited interior and reputation more

Hearty Mex food 11/29/2005

Tasty, hearty, filling meals at good prices. One of my favorite casual dining spots in town, and run by nice folks. Pros: good food, inexpensive, good drinks Cons: should greet at door more

Great Food - Bad Service 7/14/2005

What a waste of great food when the service is so lacking in attentiveness. I have gone back several times beacuse of the food and am always remined why it's truly not worth the effort. Pros: chips and salsa Cons: lack of effort more

loved it! 9/8/2004

It was great. Best I've ever had! I loved the chips and salsa. My tostada was delicious. Whenever I visit Seattle again, I will be sure to make a stop at this mexican restaurant! Pros: food, drinks, open late more

Strong Margueritas! 3/8/2004

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants because they serve Menudo and have STRONG margueritas. Their chips and salsa is excellent and their beans and rice perfect. But mainly, they make strong margueritas - I like that. more

Surliness is their Specialty 2/8/2003

Apparently specializes in marginal food and downright surly service. Two waitresses tag-teamed us with their thoroughly bitchy and unhelpful personalities. I was so frosted that I didnt even take notes, but I do remember that I was impressed by neither the chicken taco nor the chile relleno from my combination plate. Pros: Wallingford location Cons: Surly service, Unimpressive food more

A tradition comes to an end 7/16/2002

This WAS the same food as was served in the downtown location (under the Pay N' Save) that was so celebrated by the business community (blue shirt Thursdays). The beans were unsurpassed outside of Texas, absolutely fabulous, thick, brown and cheesy. I've eaten them hundreds of times alone for dinner. Great burrito sauce (one of three house sauces), that has highlights of black pepper. \r \r But sadly that is now the past, as I learned recently. The beans are now pretty much standard pudding and the famous three sauces have reverted to the norm. Which must mean a change in chef. I don't know who he (or she was), but my tummy will always remember you. I actually have the bowl from my 150th consecutive dinner of beans, flour toritillas and diet cokes (a record) sitting on my desk. Pros: Seemed to be good food Cons: Not what it used to be more
