This is a strange place, as it attempts to give you the experience of being in Palestine, with re-creations of Christian holy cites, but it is also a fine, well landscaped garden....

This is a strange place, as it attempts to give you the experience of being in Palestine, with re-creations of Christian holy cites, but it is also a fine, well landscaped garden. If you have some older Christian aunts, this is a must see, but otherwise it may not go over so well. Still, who would have thought? more

Little-known gem – a MUST see! 8/7/2005

Even though it’s very close to Catholic University and the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, it’s easy to miss the Franciscan Monastery; tucked away on a side street. However, it’s SO worth the trip – the monastery grounds have replicas of the Holy Land sites and the catacombs (the only in the United States); the church is gorgeous, and gardens are beautiful. An absolutely amazing place to pray! more
