Fisherman's Market

Went there on the advice of a front desk person at the Hilton. During the week, I ate there twice, bought salmon jerky for snacks and sent more salmon home. I would rate all of it A+. The place is a little seedy but after all, it is a fish house! more

A lot of the local fish caught are processed through the fisherman's market. Their selection is great and you can't find fresher fish at local markets. The market has restaurant items available but the smell of fish is too strong for me to use the inside seating. There is a small patio which is nice on sunny days. more

On busy West 7th Avenue you're sure to see the Fisherman's Market. Inside, the place looks like you'd expect a fish store -- big tanks with live crabs, clams, oysters and lobsters. Not particularly lovely, but definitely reminds you of a visit to the docks. They specialize in fish and chips, and feature a batch of fancy tartar sauce versions. Check to see if they still offer the Friday night lobster special -- it's a great price, cooked to order. They do a special "Plankfish" -- smoked on a red cedar slab. That custom smoking is one reason people like this place so much! Microbrew, wine and a number of other cold beverages in the cooler. Some u-bake items. Also chowder and soup like cioppino. We like to take-out. They offer home or office delivery. more
