Family Dentistry

I have been going to Jere Manning C DDS located at 129 Belle Forest Cir, Nashville, TN 37221 for a while with no problems till today. Today I go in for what wassupposed to be just a filling. While there the dentist decides hes going to do a crown instead but doesn't ask me if I want a crown or can I afford a crown. I found out when it was to late and was presented with a 357.00 dollar bill. What kind of business practice is that? You don't do unauthorized work and expect to get paid for it. He should have asked me if I could afford the crown. No we can't afford the crown my wife is unemployed. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. If he would have told me that they were doing a crown I would have said no. I was having no problems. This is like taking your car in for service and they put in a 3oo or 400 dollar part and then present you with a bill expecting you to pay it. The dentist probably screwed up the filling and had to do the crown. You can't get a patient in your chair and do whatever you want to do and then say you owe me such and such. YOU NEED TO INFORM THE PATIENT OF THE COST UP FRONT.YOU DON'T KNOW THAT PATIENTS FINANCIAL SITUATION. YOU CAN'T ASSUME THIS PATIENT CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR A CROWN WHEN THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE COMING IN FOR A FILLING. more

DR MANNING HAS BEEN MY DENTIST FOR 14 YEARS. ALL 6 OF MY CHILDREN HAVE GONE THERE AS WELL. I RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE IN NASHVILLE. more

I went to get an exam to have existing work that was not done in the military because of the war, he was suppose to document all problems. He did not. His exam was not fumbled at best. When his work started on my teeth he did such a poor job, my crowns fell out the same day once, and the rest of the time within a week, probably because, he allows his technicians to do the majority of the work, and then comes to check it out later. Upon returning to get the rework done, there were no apologies, and he acted as if i were a nussiance. The last incident that forced me to find another dentist, involved him filing my tooth down so much that my crown was actually touching my root, which he told me, needed a root canal. Thanks to the VA, i was able to avoid that. He is a horrible dentist, and i would not reccomend him to anyone. more

Dr. Manning made several crowns for me, and I had problems with all of them! One of the ""permanent"" crowns came off and when he recemented it, it was misaligned and caused severe jaw problems and the tooth to break. Another crown was off-color and had a chip in the front of it. (a crown on a front tooth! I have had to have most of the fillings he did replaced. I would not recommend him! more
