Over the years I?ve been to Dragon Mans off and on to use the range and to purchase ammo. The range master is very friendly and the range was very controlled and organized. Definitely is a safer environment than the rampart range with the kids who have no concept of muzzle direction and gun safety. In January 2009 I was in the market for an M-4 style A.R. As some of you may know they became hard to come by and about the 3rd place on my list to call was Dragon Mans. When I called Mel (the owner) answered the phone and stated he didn?t have any but he may get some in the future. I asked him if he knew anyone that had any in stock as my search was getting desperate. Mel told me in a very dismissive and rude tone that ?Ford doesn?t talk to Chevy? and to leave him alone followed by a click and dial tone. Anyone that understands Business 101 would have offered to take a deposit for an ordered one even if they are a few months back ordered as is the case. Or at least be helpful in the hope that a customer returns in the future having been impressed by the quality of service. Instead Mel, a.k.a the owner, a.k.a. dragon man has not only lost a customer that will never spend a red cent at his establishment but friends of that customer that never will either. What Mel didn?t know was that not only was I looking for myself but I was also looking for my father-in-law and two friends. Each of us ended up spending over $2000 at another establishment on gear, ammo and rifles. Mel apparently doesn?t need paying customers because of the firearms boom but the spike in the market will not always be there for him to treat customers as pests that he can?t be bothered with.
Pros: Great Range
Cons: Not the kind of place that makes you feel good about spending a significant amount of money.
