Doggie Dude Ranch and the O'Cat Corral

Our dogs have been going to the Doggie Dude Ranch since it opened in early 2007. Being a spa lover myself, I can say if I were them, I would consider this the ultimate vacation! I appreciate the fact that my pets are with people who care about them. As soon as we make the first turn towards the ranch, they can hardly contain their excitement. The dogs come home from a visit tired and happy. I don't mind the remote location and extra cost, because I can enjoy my vacation without worrying about their well-being. Highly recommended! This place is GREAT! The owners are kind and caring. My dog is from a shelter and is often scared of people, so I was worried about leaving him with people he was not familiar with. Will and I toured the facility and while he was scared when I left, he was happy as could be when I came to pick him up later. It was so wonderful, they had pictures of him playing with the other dogs and I really think that his whole confidence around other people was up after his time at the Doggie Dude Ranch. I have taken him back several times now and he always goes in happily, jumps into their pool and even knows where his own kennel is. Also, the facilities are beautiful, complete with log beds in each of the kennels! more

My dog, Toaster, is my baby, and I wanted to make sure he was going to be well taken care of while I was gone to see my friend's newborn son in California. I searched for a nice overnight boarding service and was shocked to learn that there aren't that many nice, committed, and fun overnight boarding places in the Denver Metro area. Their name came highly recommended from one of the daycare providers, so I decided to check it out. Their website looked great and people I spoke with over the phone were polite and caring. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take a tour, but the place looked and smelled clean. They told me that Toaster would play with other dogs of similar temperament and would sleep in his own suite. When I returned to pick him up, they gave me a picture of Toaster playing outside with other dogs. I could tell from the picture that he was having fun. They gave him a tennis ball and a bandana to take home. Although Toaster was happy to go home with me, I now know where I can take him from now on when I need to go out of town! Pros: Friendly people who care about safety and comfort of pets. Cons: It's in Watkins, but worth the drive, I think. more
