The WORST experience EVER 7/2/2010

I took my beautiful, gentle cat in to get a routine dental exam and ear check at Deschutes Animal Clinic and he came home with blood in BOTH ears, deaf, and falling down. AND they didn't even tell me about that when I picked him up at the end of the day after work. When I got him home and out of the carrier and discovered blood in his ears, I called Deschutes and asked to talk to the technician. Their response was "Oh, yeah. I meant to tell you about that. We cleaned him up. There shouldn't be much blood."\r \r CLEANED HIM UP? What did they do?? No one would answer my question about THAT. I was told he was probably still groggy from the anesthesia and that's why he was falling down. I should wait. So I waited until the next day when I got home from work. He was still falling down and not eating (now 48 hours since the fast before surgery) and so I took him to Olympia Pet Emergency. They were GREAT! They gave him pain meds and told me to put baby food in his regular food to c more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible 2/16/2009

I had brought my cats here previously and had been satisfied with their treatment, even if they did tend to 'overcharge' by suggesting tests that in hindsight probably weren't necessary.\r \r However, I took my cat to get declawed and the treatment of me and him has left me incredibly upset with them and I am never going back. When I visited him at the clinic the day after (he had to stay two nights) I noticed that with the cone on his head to prevent him from licking, he was unable to drink water from the bowl they gave him! He couldn't drink! That's ABUSE in my book. I also never got to meet the vet who did the surgery. I thought usually you met the doctor... either before or after the surgery. HELLO?\r \r A few days later I suspected he had a mild infection so I took him back. When they brought him to the back to give him antibiotics I asked to go and was told "No." They came back to say he had a mild fever and they wanted him to stay another night. There was no way I was leaving my cat more

good vet clinic 1/24/2009

My family took our pets to Deschutes when I was a kid and I still take my dogs there today. I can't think of a better recommendation than to say that we've been clients there for 33+ years. I really like Dr. Balius and Dr. Flory and I've seen them more often than the other vets, but I like the other vets, too. The office is in the same building it was 30 years ago,, so don't expect anything fancy, but their prices are very competitive (perhaps because they're not funding a brand new office...?). more

Great Vet 7/19/2005

I take my dog to this vet clinic and it is a great place to take your pet. They are all very nice and helpful and the doctors are great. I would recommend this place to everyone. When I had to put a pet to sleep, they sent me a sympathy card which made me feel like they truly cared. I appreciate the personal attention they gave me. PROS: Nice and helpful CONS: more
