Do "easy" and "wedding dress shopping" really belong together in the same sentence? For me they did. When I went to David's Bridal, I was just going because they had a great sale going on and I felt I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn't go and at least take a look. I had a few pictures of dresses I wanted to try on and the helpful saleswoman also showed me my size dresses on the rack so I could pick out a few more. The saleswoman lined them up for me on the rack and made sure to keep separate the ones I immediately discarded. She brought some slippers I could use to try on the dresses with to get the right look and feel. Low and behold, the dress I tried on second to last, that I picked off the rack, was The One. And it was on sale. I decided that was too good to pass up, so I bought my dress over a year before my wedding date with no hassle. The kindly saleswoman then brought over a couple of veils to try on and I found the perfect one. I will say that the price the saleswoman quoted me was $100 less than the actual price. And I am none too fond of the fact that David's Bridal doesn't seem to have a policy in print for my file (re: when you buy the dress off the rack, cleaning & pressing are free). However, it is supposed to be a chain wide policy so I'll hope it holds when I take the dress in next year. All in all, with the great selection and helpful sales people, I would recommend at least giving David's Bridal a try. You just never know what treasure you might find! more

I went here to purchase my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses in 2003. The staff was not as friendly as I had hoped but I was still satisfied. Most of the dresses are bought off the rack with some exception to where they order the item for you. I do recommend having an appointment in order to get a dressing room. Also try to go during the week as they are less crowded and you get more of the appropriate attention a bride would need. The prices for alterations are pretty high so I would look elsewhere. No mater what service I received however, I still had a great wedding. more
