Comprite Computer Repair Vancouver\r \r DO NOT TRUST WITH YOUR MAC. They have no knowledge of Mac products.\r \r I took my Mac Mini in to have iTune files moved from one drive to the next as one hard drive was full, and the other was empty. I dropped off for repair the morning of Nov 26th, for expected pick-up Nov 29th. Ben Bolokhovskiy assured me the files would be movable. \r \r They were unable complete the task in the promised time. On Dec 2nd I was phoned that the task was complete and operating normally. I brought it home, and attempted to use the moved files, and they could not be found. I took it back the next morning, they said it would be a simple fix, and that they should be able to fix it for pick up the next day. \r \r On Dec 5th, I received a call that it was ready for pickup. When I hooked it up at home, the files worked, but they were duplicated. I called and explained my concern, and was told that this is what I asked them to do. I explained I wanted files moved, not duplicated, and what was I supposed to do with all these duplicates? They consulted their Apple expert Alex, who said I needed to delete them each- one at a time. There are over 9500 song files alone, not to mention video files, was I supposed to click and delete 9500 times? ""Yes,"" was the answer I received. \r \r Outraged, I said this was not part of our agreement, and they needed to fix it right away. They said it was exactly what I asked them to do, and they had delivered as promised, the files were moved, problem solved. This was unacceptable, so the told them I would be bringing it back to have it repaired as per our original agreement. They said that would be fine, but they would be charging me for it. I told them I would not be charged for work to be done as a result of their incompetence, and only after I threatened to have it fixed elsewhere, and sue them for the cost and their $200 repair bill, did they agree to fix their error at no additional cost, but that they would need it for two weeks. At this point I knew I was speaking with people who had no idea how to address Mac problems. I told them I could get it to them on Dec 6th for pick up on the 9th, and they would have to make that work, as I could not afford to be without my computer another two weeks. They said that would not be enough time, as there was more than 9500 files! My point exactly.\r \r I have contacted Apple, and unfortunately, since the move was done INCORRECTLY, the only way to delete the files was from iTunes- one at a time.\r \r BEWARE! Alex and Ben know nothing of how to make simple file movements on Mac products. Just make the drive to the Apple store, and forego the problems they will cause. more

wow... a computer shop that actually fixes computers... 4/27/2011

So in the process of job hunting, I of course download something called ""PC Defender 2011"" and of course it wants my credit card info... right... not gunna happen. So I start calling around, Best Buy wants like 220, Office Depot wants like 199... sigh... so having all but given up on getting my computer fixed this pay check, low and behold on my way home from work, I see a ridiculously tall dude standing out waving a sign that says something about computers and ""$89"". Needless to say I was curious. I pull in expecting to find some teenager fresh out of high school, thinking he has some idea of what he is doing, but is really going to make my life hell. But wait! These are people in suits... maybe they know what they are doing after all. Okay, little leery of paying before I get my computer back, but hey, these guys are quoting a price I can actually pay, so what the hell, I will give em a shot. I dropped the computer off at about 5pm. The next day I get a call while I am at work telling me that my computer was done, and that I could come pick it up. I look at my watch. 3:30pm... So on my way home from work again, I swing by. At this point I am predicting all sorts of horrible things... but wait! It not only works, but they did all of my updates, for all of my programs, cleaned the computer, and sat down with me and showed me what happened and how to stop it from happening again... score! Thank you giant guy waiving the sign you are a life saver! more

Happy to be helped 1/25/2011

I had a laptop part that was very difficult to fix and I went to several computer repair shops and they pretty much said the same thing, it would be better if I got a new laptop and then they started trying to sell me a new one. I am of course a bit stubborn and I don't want a new laptop! I like what I have. So I ended up going to Comprite and not only were they able to fix the problem within the week but the staff was very friendly and trying to sell me things. I thoroughly appreciate their help and I will go their for future issues. more
