Nice hotel with good rates. Rooms were clean and parking is free. Breakfast was also available. more

This was a really nice hotel. The front desk was very professional and accomodating. It's very rare that a Choice hotel front desk person notices that I am a choice platinium member and this one did and gave me an upgrade which was much appreciated!! The room was awesome! I wanted to stay longer but I'll have to come back to do that....I'll be back!! Oh yeh and breakfast was well stocked with a nice variety of times...first class all the way!!! more

We were so pleased at check-in. Our 3 children and my in-laws were traveling with us for a day trip with an overnight stay in Kansas City MO. When told we hoped to be placed near each other so the kids could be near Grandpa & Grandma, they were able to provide adjoining rooms and our kiddos had a blast going back and forth. The room was very clean and comfortable, shower was super hot. The location was awesome for what our plans were. Thanks Comfort Inn for a very pleasant stay over such a busy holiday weekend! more

I had made a reservation for three nights at the Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown KC MO. After my first night, which was very pleasant, I went off to work on the equipment at the Auditorium that brought me to town. While there, I got a call from my 94 year old mother's Care Button folks, telling me that she'd fallen and was being transported to the hospital, in Council Bluffs, IA, 3 hours away. I first called my wife, to see what she could do to help, then called the motel to tell them what had happened and that I was leaving today (Tuesday) instead of Thursday. Andrew answered the phone, and was really helpful. I got the work I needed to do done, and went back to the motel, where a bill for one night's lodging awaited me. Andrew could have reasonably charged me for another, but was kind enough to take the circumstances into account and forgive the penalties. I've stayed there before, and will be back again! more

This hotel was very clean and the staff was very acommodating. My grandaughter enjoyed the indoor pool. It was less than a mile away from the Kansas City Convention Center where we were attending a dance competition, so the location was very convenient for that. If there is any drawback it would be a lack of surrounding eating places, but you can get back on the interstate easily, go a couple miles and exit to restaurants and fast food places. This is not a ""luxury hotel"" but is perfect for our needs: it is modern and clean, has a pool, small gym, in-room coffee pot, hair dryer, microwave and frig. I called the front desk the day I returned home and asked if the maid had found my i-phone charger. She had found it and turned it in. The yound man at the front desk mailed it to me and 2 days later I received it. I appreciate the excellent service provided by both employees. I will continue to stay there when visiting Kansas City, MO. more

The customer service was excellent. When my daughter and I got lost on our attempt at exploring, headed on 169, the Desk Staff (Heather) was extremely patient and guided us back to the motel. We were truly afraid. Excellent service. Breakfast was tops. Only one thing and not motel fault-we had an elephant staying in the room above us. More noise than I would like but the room was excellent in cleaniness. Meeting our accommodations for that night was tops. We did not know what we were coming into so overall just great for us. We will be using this motel again in the near future. more

I travel about 50% for my job and will always try and stay at a CHOICE hotel. Upon check in at this property, the clerk at the front desk recognized by status with Choice hotels and upgraded my room to a suite for the same price I originally booked a standard King room for. Staff at this location was very friendly and offered several places to enjoy Kansas City Barbecue. Breakfast is the standard yogurt, oatmeal/cereal, waffles, fruit, juice and coffee. Very spacious breakfasts area. Lots of parking in parking lot, very well lit. Beds are slightly uncomfortable and hard. Very quite hotel. Overall a great experience. I stayed five nights here and would definitely recommend this location to other travelers. more

On the heels of a creepy hotel (Ramada) in Denver, I was kind of reluctant to try another chain hotel, but the location and the price made this one worth trying. Pleasantly surprised at every turn. They allowed us to check in early, which was great since I needed to get organized for the show at the convention center, the lobby was nice and clean, the clerk was friendly, the room was large and clean and had a mini fridge and wonderful large screen TV and free WiFi. Plus, comparing rates with other local hotels, this was a bargain (just $71 per night). Add to that a well-stocked breakfast bar (free) that was very popular, a wonderful location near downtown and by the highways, and this was a no-surprise visit that motivates me to recommend it to others. more

When looking for an economical place to stay in Kansas City, my husband and I found the Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown. We weren't sure what to expect for such a great price in the downtown area of the city, but we were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful accomodations this hotel offered. First, we always felt safe and you could tell that the hotel staff took pride in their work. Second, the room was spacious and very clean. Finally, the hotel breakfast is phenomenal! I have stayed in many different hotels on vacation or for work and the breakfast other hotels offer are often a dry, crusty bagel and a small glass of orange juice. But at this hotel they offer a whole breakfast buffet of gravy over biscuts, warm waffles, and toast with other side options such as fresh fruit or cereal. I will be definitely staying here again when I visit the area in the future and I will wake up extra early just to make it their wonderful breakfast buffet! more

I had almost stayed at this hotel about 3 years ago, and I can't believe how much it has changed since then!! The lobby was beautiful and decorated for the holidays, the rooms were spotless and newly remodeled with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in at a hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and it was the best continental breakfast I'd ever had! It has the cheapest price out of all of the hotels in downtown Kansas City, unless you'd want to stay at a mom and pop dump for $30! They were easy to find and when we got lost in the downtown area we called and talked to a front desk agent named Abigail and she stayed on the phone with us until we found the restaurant we'd been looking for and lead us there perfectly! She actually worked the entire stay we were there and was great with recommendations for things to do and see during our stay and was professional and easy to talk to, all the staff was! The manager Anand had the best restaurant recommendations and sent us to the best BBQ we'd ever had!\r It was a bit further away from the bar district power and light than we had expected but the cab was only $6 and the hotel got us a cab within 2 minutes! Since it was 4 girls I wouldn't recommend walking around after dark just because it is a city and has practically no traffic at night in the area the hotel was in, but overall our stay was incredile! I have stayed at the Marriott and President downtown and while their location was on top of everything the Comfort Inn and Suites was just as nice and included breakfast, had an indoor pool and free wi-fi for half the price! If you're looking for a hotel that doesn't break the bank but still gives you 5-star service in the downtown area, you will love the Confort Inn and Suites! more

Stayed two nights and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and the location was handy to the downtown area. Close to Interstates..but quiet! Plan to stay here again next year. more

I stayed at this hotel during my recent visit to the city. I was traveling with my instrument which included a oversized flight case that couldn't fit into a normal sized sedan. When asking the front desk manager about how to get it it back to the airport, he offered to personally give me a ride and save me some money. This alone deserves the highest rating. more

We checked in around midnight, we had the drive from hell, we were all tired, it was quiet, the front desk lady greeted us with the most beautiful smile, I completely forgot about how tired and frustrated I was. She was very polite, had a great attitude, which actually helped my attitude be better. The next morning, she was gone and a gentleman was at the desk, he was also polite and very helpful. This place has the friendliest staff I've ever come across at a hotel. The rooms were nice, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the breakfast was good. Overall, this was the best stay I had ever had. Thank you guys and gal, you made our stay at the Comfort Inn great. more

This was our second stay at Comfort Inn and Suites KC. The Inn is very convenient to our children's home and a natural choice due to location. It has also become a natural choice for a comfortable room and friendly staff. When we checked in, after a long day on the road, we were greeted warmly and check in was quick. Our assigned room turned out to be one of the rooms under renovation. When we let the desk person know he apologized and immediately gave us an alternative room. This room had a fan noise that continued even while the fan was off. We asked for a third room and were immediately upgraded to a suite with sincere apologies. The suite was large with a wall room divider between the sleeping and sitting areas. The room smelled fresh without a strong cleaning product smell. The king bed was comfortable with soft sheets and nice pillows. Two large flat screen televisions, a microwave and apartment sized refrigerator furnished the room. There was a desk and chair in the sleeping area that did not crowd the bed. The pull out sofa in the sitting area was nice. Breakfast was delicious with hot and cold options and the ever popular waffle maker. The lady who serviced the breakfast area was so friendly and kept the area spotless. There was no additional charge for parking which was nice for a downtown hotel. We stayed for six nights, appreciated the guest laundry, nice people and convenience to our family. This is our home away from home while in KC!! more

My wife and I stayed here the day before and the day after returning from vacation. The staff was nice and let me park my car in the hotel parking lot while we were away. The building is in very nice shape and both rooms we stayed in were very clean. The rooms have LCD televisions, a microwave, and a mini-fridge all standard.\r \r The price was very reasonable considering you are less then a mile from the Amtrack station. It was about an $8 cab ride for the two of us. The free breakfast includes waffles, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. The breakfast was actually better then the $165 a night hotel's breakfast we stayed at in Chicago!\r \r This will now be my default hotel of choice when traveling by train out of KC. more

My stay was almost a week long and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was great, (close to the Power & Light District) and for the location, the price was very reasonable. The room was clean and comfortable. more
