Combs Veterinary Clinic

I merely state the facts of our situation to warn other pet owners. DO NOT take your pets to Combs. We lost our miniature dachshund due to incompetence and negligence of this veterinary office. \r During routine blood work, our dog showed signs of having a bladder infection. After weeks of antibiotics and retesting, he had an x-ray performed that showed what was assumed to be two small stones. The vet recommended surgery. During the procedure, stones were not found, but sediment and his bladder was scraped and cleaned. He was stapled up and placed in a recovery cage. We were told everything went well, but hours later we received a call saying he had experienced “significant” bruising and swelling. He was left at the facility overnight – which closes at 5:30PM – and was picked up by us on Saturday AM at 9AM. He was vomiting by 11:3AM and I took him back to Combs. They gave him pain injections and more pills for the weekend. They closed at 1PM and would not reopen until 8AM on Mon more

Love this Clinic! My mini schnauzer has been a client here for over a year! Pleasant, informative staff. They even worked him in Right Away one evening when he was bitten by a snake, first offering life saving advice over the phone before we could get there! I find them very caring and A+ care! Do recommend this clinic to others! more

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Poor service and treatment. On top of that, I dont believe that they treat their staff very well. more

Always very friendly and personal care. Know our pet's history and have friendly service. Separate cats and dogs. Have good sitting area and exam rooms. Staff is great. Prices are reasonable. Great with the puppy/dog and the kids. Have been with them for several years through other pets and have been very happy. Send reminders, have picture pet id cards to put on your key chain which is very cute! All staff, vets, assistants, and office are caring and loving! more

I am a single mother that is on a fixed budget. I work to take care of my kids and animals. It was on a Thursday that I discovered one of my rescue dogs had been scratched in the eye. His eye was infected and oozing green discharge, and looked like it had a white haze over it. I was in a panic and took him to Combs and they turned us away because I did not have the money. I explained I was a good customer and always pay my vet bills. They would not even give us eye ointment. I was scheduled to get paid that Friday. I just could no believe the tech turned us away with that poor little dog in so much pain.. It was really sad for me that day to feel so helpless to getting my dog care because of money issues that day! I know that they can be good!! But they were not there for my dog when I needed them the most. I am going somewhere else now. more

We took out new dog to the Combs Veterinary Clinic to get a health check. First of all, the health check was free because we got the dog from the animal shelter, and this office works with the shelter. The staff was incredibly nice, and they were able to see us right away. The doctor was great. He gave us some great training tips, and went over dog behaviors with us very thoroughly. They were also wonderful with my child, who came with us, and helped her to understand more about the dog. Prices were very reasonable. They will be my vet for the future. more

Our friend is a vet here, so maybe I'm biased, but I love the clinic. Worth a 10 minute drive out of bloomington for affordable personalized pet care. Never feel like they're being unecessary or anything and they clipped my dogs nails for free! more
