Columbine Massage Therapy & Day Spa

My wife just had a facial and was not at all impressed with the experience. The room was cold, too bright and the person doing the facial/massage wore examine gloves the entire time (it is an unpleasant feeling having your back, arms, neck massaged by someone with gloves on). We won't be going there again more

This spa reopened under new management this year (2009) and I have already been 5 times! I love the people, the atmosphere, etc. They are so accomodating to my needs and go out of their way to ensure every experience is memorable. I would highly recommend this new and improved Columbine Day Spa to everyone! more

I have visited Columbine on a number of occasions, and after reading some of these other reviews, I felt I should include my own. They are very busy and cannot always accomodate walk-ins. The front desk personnel know the schedules and don't need to refer to them when they know they are booked. The lobby is often empty, because everyone is enjoying what Columbine has to offer! I have always been offered ice water or wine, I have used the sauna, hot tub, and steam shower numerous times. However, it's understandable, if you don't book one of the two steam showers when you make your appointment, it may not be available. But I have always found that if I let the staff know I want the shower room following a massage, it's booked at the same time as the massage, with whatever aromatherapy I choose. It's always ready as soon as my massage is over. Have very few clocks I find comforting, then I don't worry about time. I can just relax and enjoy my experience. I cannot wait for them to open the facility - I'm sure it will be better than ever! more

Normally the free amenities are the reason I choose this spa over the others in this area, since the services are in the same price range and I can make a simple massage into a mini-spa experience, with the hot tub, sauna, aromatherapy steam room and shower, and free beverage. The ad says just to bring a bathing suit since they'll provide the rest. I came early, as told, and the hot tub wasn't turned on and I couldn't use the sauna. I wasn't asked about a beverage, and was instead given the "aromatherapy" room to sit in while I waited for the massage. There was a glass of ice water in the room but it was clearly a dirty glass (the rim had something I could scrape with my fingernail). The aromatherapy just sort of got me sticky before I got the massage. The massage itself was pretty good. Then I asked about taking a shower after, and they said I already used it at the beginning and that they have to schedule it. All the shower rooms were empty. (Not really surprising). So I went home sticky, with massage oil in my hair, to go take a shower at home and clean up instead of going straight to the office like I was hoping. I've been here before and loved it, and the service staff are great, but beware the front desk lady. Also, it's probably handy to bring your own waterproof watch and insist on keeping it, since there are no working clocks anywhere and no one will come fetch you from the amenities to let you know when you can enjoy your service (that happened last time, too). more

I called Columbine for an appointment when my regular massage therapist was unavailable. They were able to get me in the same day. I was very impressed with their facilities and wide range of treatments available. Their prices are reasonable and what I would consider on the low side of average. They have a shower available for you to use after your massage, which was important to me because I often have to return to work after a massage. The staff was very friendly. My therapist took the time to show me around the facilities. She did a wonderful job of working out the kinks in my neck and back. Everyone seemed to have my comfort as their number one conern. The only negative was that the massage room we used had a window in it. It was covered but let in more light than I would prefer. I will definitely return to this spa for future massages and other treatments. more

I decided to stop by Columbine after seeing their ads and visiting their website. After the receptionist asked if she could help me , I told her that I would like to get a manicure and a deep tissue massage. To which she replied " we cannot accommodate you, our massage therapist are completely booked and oh, so are our manicurist , we usually only do appointment only sorry. " She said all of this without even bothering to look at the appointment book that she had her hand on, or without even offering to schedule me for another day. Their parking lot was not full, and there was no one else in the lobby! Being able to afford such an establishment but I guess that she was able to determine by my skin color? that I could not be served in her establishment. This has never happened to me before but I thought that I needed to share.. more
