Capital Movers

I can not say enough good thing about capital movers. They were amazing!!!!! We found out 14 hours before our closed and were told we had to be out of our home that day. My stress level was high. Tom ,the owner of capital, told me he would be there and do what ever it would take to move us. They showed up on time, if not early, and moved us. Not one broken or damaged item. They were upbeat and made me laugh all day. If it wasn't for Tom and is crew I don't know what we would have done. We can't thank them enough. I would highly recommend this team, and if we ever move again (which I hope not) I will be calling capital movers!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys are my kind of people!!! ;)) more

I love Capital Movers. I called them a week before my move after another large moving company promised to move me on the first of the month (scheduled two weeks in advance), only to tell me that they made a mistake and could not move me until mid-month. Capital Movers squeezed me into their schedule. They were right on time on move day. They were in and out of my house in record time. Not a scratch or broken dish. They even moved my dining room hutch from one location in my new home to another after I decided it would look nicer elsewhere. They were the nicest people ever. I used Capital Movers for the first time today, they were fast and efficient, gentle with with our furniture. The men that moved our things were friendly and made the move better than we'd even hoped. I have moved several times in the last couple yrs and I am glad I hired Capital movers, Highly Recommend. Also they were the most affordable moving company I hired. Oh and the name of the movers that quoted me 1200 was called the Ideal Move in case u read this guys. Thank you again! more

I used Capital Movers for the first time a year ago and will be calling them within the next month to move me again. This is after having another, very well known moving company dig gouges in my walls. Capital was professional, careful, and with very reasonable prices. I wouldn't use any other company. more

Your review is a scam and a joke, here are the reasons.... 1. Your items and furniture that were shipped from Dallas, Texas were damaged on the ABF trailer during the trip, we had nothing to do with that 2. If you were upset with the rates why didn't you go with another company? you were not held by the hand and forced to go with us 3. We took everything off of the trailer straight to your apartment, not to mention you looked in our truck during and after the move If you were going to complain to anybody it should have been to ABF, they are the ones that delivered your possessions here to Albany more

This is the worst moving company by far, its a small mom and pop type company where the owner helps move items with some younger guys. I have had over a half dozen moving companies and this company was the least professional for several reasons. 1. They scratched up/nicked several items and were not careful at all with my belongings. 2. They over charge there rates for simple jobs and charge a minimum which was ridiculous for the amount of work provided. 3. Most importantly some of my belongings were ""lost"" and never were moved into my place. They were not of high value so I can not say they were stolen, but that means they misplaced items that they recall delivering. I recommend to anyone that needs help moving find someone else off of uhaul website, this company is a scam and a joke. more

I called Capital Movers to see if they could help me move a sofa from my friend's apartment to mine. I asked for someone to help me that day and the owner (I think his name was Tom?) said he wasn't sure but that he would call all his employees to see if anyone was available that day. That extra effort alone had me very impressed. Unfortunately none of them could make it so they came early the next day to move it out. They arrived on time and used the utmost care for the sofa as to not get it dirty. They also were very careful not to damage walls, doorways, or my ceiling light. They were also extremely knowledgeable about it and it turns out my reclining couch was able to be disassembled, which they carefully did for me, and then reassembled it free of charge. They were polite, friendly, and fun and I'll be using them next time I move. I absolutely love these guys. I highly recommend ignoring the bad reviews and hiring these guys. They're awesome. I called Capital Movers on the day I needed a heavy couch to be moved into my new apartment. I only needed them to move it from a van into the new place, and wasn't sure if they could do it the same day. Tom, the owner was very friendly, he called me back right away even tho I did not leave a message. He was at my place quickly after leaving, and the job was done in a matter of 10 mins. He knew more about my furniture than I did, and was able to show tips to move it easier next time. Pricing was reasonable and I would highly recommend them to anyone, and use them again myself! I hired Capital Movers to move my house in a local move and the Owner Tom was very helpful and Knowledgeable in all the questions and concerns I had with my move. This was the second time that I had ever moved before, Tom and his staff were very careful in moving my things and ensured that everything was covered in blankets and packaged in the truck carefully. Even with the nusicence of the rain he made sure the floors in my new place wouldnt get dirty, He placed blankets down in the main walk area. At the end of the move I was asked if anything needed additional setting up or if anything needed to be moved around. For my second moving experience Tom and his crew made it a smooth enjoyable experience for me. He accomidated my moving date with no problem. I definetly recommend Capital Movers to someone looking to move. I would use their services again in the future. Thanks again guys. PLEASE AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COST!!!\r \r This place has the WORST customer service of all the movers in the greater capital region. I called this establishment last week to get a quote on a move and the guy on the phone (THE OWNER) was extremely rude and was very irritated by my questions. I posed the same questions to all the movers I called, doing my due diligence as a paying customer. Some of the questions I asked were, \r \r - Is your moving company licensed? \r - How does your company charge by the piece or by the hour? \r - Do you have a minimum charge? \r - Do you charge extra for larger items such as pianos, large screen televisions, or any extra flights of stairs to move items on?\r - Do you charge extra for moves in the evenings or on the weekends?\r - Do you charge for miles or fuel?\r - Do you have full-time employees or do you use temps and day labor?\r - What kind of training have your movers and drivers completed? How long have they been with the company?\r \r I do not believe that these are unusual questions to be asking, I think that every smart mover SHOULD ask these questions, however, the person on the phone grew VERY angry with me and actually hung up the phone on me. I thought it was just a bad cellphone connection so I called again because I was not finished. He then proceeded to ask me WHY am I asking all these questions and actually started to mock my questions. To finish off, the owner on the phone told me to ""F*** OFF"" and hung up on me a second time.\r \r If this is the way Capital Movers treat their potential customers, what happens if they break your furniture during the move? What sort of customer service are you going to get then? Good luck in trying to get your fair replacement costs working with such a poor business practice. \r \r DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS TO MOVE YOUR THINGS AND LOVED ONES. I hired Capital Movers to move about 3 years ago and i have to say that they are the best. They kept me informed of when they would be here to move me and were on time. They handled my stuff with care, things were loose or broken and they fixed it for me. They were very fast at what they did and they also helped me with positioning my furniture. They were the most responsible priced moving company I had talked to.\r \r This company was refered to me by a friend and I have refered them to other people and everyone has been happy. more
