Great activities, nice staff, but nothing in place to prevent BULLYING 7/4/2012

The overall camp concept is wonderful. It is a christian based program with fantastic activities, great staff, etc., except there is one major problem. All of this is irrelevant if your kid is getting bullied, cussed out & physically assaulted. It crushes their spirit to say the least. The first day at this camp my 5 1/2 yr. old son was cussed out by a fellow camp mate. We thought it was handled by management. The bully's parents had him write an apology note the next day. Then on day three, the bully got his friend to physically assault my son when the counselor was busy talking. My son is not a troublemaker, goes to a christian school, has been to Adventure Kids on Lake Grapevine (which isn't even a christian based program) since he was 3 years old & we have never EVER had ths kind of problem anywhere - except at Camp Thurman. There needs to be very aggressive rules & measures in place to prevent bullying from happening but apparently there is not. A real disappointment!!! more

WOW & WOW again! Camp Thurman You Rock! 4/5/2011

In 2010 my 8 year old daughter experienced Camp Thurman for the 1st time. We live in Grapevine Texas but it was well worth the 30-40 minute drive. There are many families from this area who return each year to Camp Thurman. The day camp offers cool zip lines and many fun activities. I was especially impressed with the high quality of staff. The camp leaders and counselors are the cream of the crop. They don't just let anyone care for your child. The staff is handpicked, intensely screened, and attend training. My daughter is going back for three weeks this summer! She begged for more! This camp is worth every penny! If you haven't checked out their website, make sure you do. more

Close to home! 11/9/2005

This is a nice camp close to home for your children. They have neat activities and the councilors are always real friendly. My children enjoy it, and it always gets good feedback from other parents and children. It is close to home so that makes it even better for driving there to drop and pick up. more
