Houtzdale is generally a friendly place. But there are things that should be taken care of in town. For one, some of the homes need to be cleaned up. I know my sister who lives at mcateer village is furious by the way people there are allowed to keep their homes which makes hers look bad. they have no play area for the children there is drg use the apartments are so outdated. wheres the money going to fix up the apartments? my sister has doors falling off windows wont close carpet that i wouldnt let my dog sleep on. and the mold is gross. The locals who yell about 4wheelers are rediculous . First of all not all riders are inconsiderate. and they are no more dangerous than a motorcylcle. and what about this new officer on patrol? i have seen him at snappys and lias. wow he works hard. he is so worried about some speeders or 4wheelers what about the drg use and the thefts going on around town? people have homes falling apart garbage in the yard looks disgusting but who is cleaning that up? and the dogs that are allowed to run free. i for one wont use the trails any longer due to a large dog who chased me down. on down the trails there are alot of dogs in a fence in mud dirty its sad.
