Melts in your mouth!!! 12/3/2002

Everytime I visit Memphis, I make it the point to have dinner at the Butcher Shop Steak House. I have never had a bad experience. The beef is so tender it almost melts in your mouth. I visit Memphis on business 1 or 2 times per year, and this on of the highlights of the trip. more

butcher shop dies not serve breakfast however the dinner is ab fab . the agricenter location is my favorite it is alittle more upsa=cale and the hostess jamie jones is the best! Pros: hostess are a-1, service is personal, price is right more

Not so much. . . 10/24/2002

I recently had a New York Strip here and it was dissapointing. I did not cook it myself but opted for the kitchen to do it. We had a party of five on a slow Saturday night and they still managed to screw up three of the 5 steaks. All horrendously overcooked. My steak was not only overcooked but it was tasteless. Not some place that I would come to again. The appetizers were unexciting and harshly ordinary. The staff was nice but did not go out of there way to make it a good dinner. THIS IS A MUST EAT AT RESTAURANT! I ATE HERE IN AUGUST '02. IT WAS MY SECOND VISIT TO MEMPHIS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. IT'S NOT MUCH ON AMBIANCE, HOWEVER, THE STEAKS MAKE UP FOR IT! THEY ALSO GIVE YOU THE OPTION TO PREPARE YOUR OWN STEAK. more

Good fun good meal 10/7/2002

My husband and I came to Memphis Tennesse to elope. On the second night in Memphis we decided we wanted a good steak dinner. Not being from Memphis we asked some locals where we should go and they referred us to the Butcher Shop. The name didn't sound too appealing, but we changed our minds once we go inside. It was a fun evening and the food was delicious. If you are looking for a good time as well as a good meal, the Butcher Shop is the place to be. more

Great steaks & mushrooms 8/9/2002

If you want steak, this is the place! If you aren't a cook by trade let the pros do it--these steaks are twice the size of ordinary steaks. Also, don't miss the mushrooms. Pros: best steaks, sauteed mushrooms, romantic Cons: limited parking, slightly expensive more
