Awesome food and awesome service. My boyfriend now fiance proposed to me at this restaurant and I had to say everything was great. Dinner ran right at $100 for the 2 of us which included our bottle of wine we selected and 2 meals including salad plus a very generous tip we gave to our waitress who brought us out a dessert with candles to celebrate our engagement. I would go back in a heartbeat. more

  • The Broiler has been Sacramento's definitive steakhouse since 1950, when a very special Dinner House at 10th and J Streets opened its doors. Now in a new location, tradition still rules at the Broiler as each steak is prepared by the same strict requirements as it was in 1950. Not in the mood for steak? Try chicken, salmon, pasta or lobster - the same attention to detail can be savored in any of the simple perfections ordered. Lunch begins at 11 a.m. each day and dinner is served until 10 p.m.

  • The Scene
White table linens, dim lighting, comfortable booths and antique-looking chairs and paintings create an appealing atmosphere for sophisticated diners, business lunchers and romantic couples. The extensive menu offers not only great steak, but plenty of seafood and chicken as well.

    The Food
Feast on juicy, tender and delicious steaks, made with the finest aged Washington beef. Add a finishing touch to your steak in the form of sauteed peppers with onions and cracked pepper, or wild mushrooms in cognac-butter sauce. Non-meat eaters will enjoy the enticing pasta, chicken and seafood options. Spicy blackened catfish with a cilantro, lime and sun-dried tomato butter is served over creamy polenta. Mixed greens are topped with potent blue cheese and tossed with a light chardonnay vinaigrette. Skip the lukewarm goat cheese souffle served with a few cold cucumber slices.
