Brandywine Apartments

I moved into Brandywine in August 2006 and have had a positive experience thus far. The grounds are kept clean, the pools are maintained, the people are very nice and accomodating, and it's in a good area. The rent isnt very high and I feel like I am getting something good for my hard earned money. The only complaint i have is that the walls are thin so you can hear loud neighbors/dogs from time to time. But hey, thats what you get when you live in an apartment. I looked at a lot of places before moving to Nashville for grad school and this was def the place that was the right price in the right area (its about 12 minutes from downtown). I feel safe, there are no bugs, and the maitenance people respond quickly (i put in a work order yesterday morning at 10 and it was done by 5pm). I think the people who write bad reviews are the ones who expect to have house comfort in an apartment building. Also, dont be discourage if there are more bad reviews than good since the people most likely to write a review have negative things to say. more

I rented from Brandywine for two years. In the two years I lived there, the security gate was closed approximately twice. My favorite would be when they would activate the incoming gate, so that cars going in should use their access cards, but they would leave the exit gate wide open. Of course, criminals are going to obey the enter/exit signs! The maintenance was terrible. I would call numerous times to get something fixed, and I would always get the run-around. Usually, they would tell me when they were coming, and I would make arrangements to leave my dog at my parents' house. Inevitably, they wouldn't come that day but would show up on some unannounced day and then leave me a nasty (and usually illegible) note about my dog (he's a cocker spaniel afraid of his own shadow). I was in a 2 br/2 ba apartment, and I had one toilet that never flushed well the whole time I lived there, and it was never fixed. The walls of my apartment were paper thin. I knew more about the intimate life of my neighbor than I ever wanted to know. The one good thing about them was that they really didn't go up significantly in their rent from one year to the next, and the grounds were kept pretty clean. The pools were nice and generally well kept, although you could never be sure that someone would open them when the signs said they would. more
