Hired & paid for professional movers...got something else entirely! The movers did show up on time, I will give them that much. It took them about 4.5 hours to load the truck so we would expect it to take 4 hours or less to unload, especially since we were moving from a 2 story house to a 1 level. They got slower and slower as the day progressed, taking a break every load from the truck to the house on the unload...Every piece of furniture was scratched and the owners reponse was we should've bought the more expensive insurance. The quote said our furniture would be wrapped so all the damages are something that could've been avoided and if I was moving it myself I would have wrapped them in bubble wrap and/or tape, they barely wrapped any of it with moving blankets. The movers took 2 hours to put our bed back together because they couldn't remember how they took it apart...and had to do it by hand??? I was quoted 8 hours and ending up being charged for 12, with 4 hours of overtime. They really had no incentive to finish on time since they are paid by the hour. The owner was very unresponsive, he finally refunded us 1 hour of overtime and $24 for our damaged furniture. I could've had better results for a LOT LESS MONEY by hiring my buddies. I'm really glad I didn't use them for storage and I will NOT USE THEM FOR MY NEXT MOVE.
