Not all veterinarians are created equal!\r \r Has your vet ever called you on a Saturday to discuss lab results from his home because it was just that important?\r \r Has your vet not only asked about your pets but asked of other people in your family?\r \r Has your vet ever told you that you were traversing a road you previously stated you did not want to go down; even though you were intent on doing everything possible to prolong the life of your suffering pet?\r \r Is your veterinarian confident enough to say ""This is beyond my scope of practice and you'd be better served elsewhere?""\r \r Does your vet listen with an open mind as you state that ""something just isn't right,"" and try to figure it out? Or does you vet pretend to listen while set in their ways and agenda?\r \r Does your vet always tell you your options so that you can make an informed decision regarding your pets health keeping your finances in mind rather than just their own? Or does your vet just tell you what needs to be done and expect you to acquiese to their recommendations and cough up the money?\r \r My vet is compassionate, down to earth, no nonsense, no bars held, intelligent, caring, knowledgable of new or vogue procedures but maintains a ""do the least to acheive the maximum benefit"" model of care.\r \r As a pet owner of dogs and cats for 30 years, I have come across my fair share of vets. For the last 12 years, I have been to Dr. Greg Stanchfield exclusively. I can't imagine going elsewhere! My daughter is a certified vet tech elsewhere and tops in her field, BUT I know when I walk in to Cornell Center Animal Hospital I will be treated like a welcome guest not a walking wallet. I cannot imagine taking my pets anywere else but Cornell Center Animal Hospital. His staff is friendly, knowledgable and are as dedicated to the best treatment of animals as Dr. Stanchfield himself. I know that despite how busy they may be, I will never feel rushed, or made to feel that I am inconveniencing them.\r \r As a doula, (professional labor support) I come in contact with many families whose first babies are their pets. When I am asked about a ""good vet"" I ALWAYS recommend Cornell Center Animal Hospital hands down! more

I took my dog to this vet after a very bad experience elsewhere. My dog is nearing the end of his life and cost for his many ailments are getting excessive. They seemed very concerned about this and gave me the option to care for him at home, which was never an option before. I was very pleased. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. more

I have been taking my dogs to Cornell Center Animal Hospital for about 10 years. They have even worked with my difficult rottweiler. It is important to me that I know the vets and have good relationship with them. I feel that I have that with Dr Stanchfield and the other vets at Cornell. more

I have been taking my pets to the Cornell Animal Hospital since it opened 10 years ago. Greg Stanchfield is an excellent Veterinarian who deeply cares for each of his patients individually, as well as their families collectively. He never tries to push or sell products to us, and he will fit in a patient in an emergency situation.\r \r I recently referred him to a friend of mine who used to be a vet-tech, and she agreed with me. Dr. Greg is a well-trained and compassionate proffesional. If your loved one is really sick, this is who you want at the helm.......he will do everything he can to help your loved one. He's the only vet I'll ever take my pets to.\r \r Yes, the animals get nervous, but Dr. Greg is great about gently getting the work done, and not letting the animals run the show there. My dog hates the vet, but as a responsible pet owner, I never let that influence my decisions on what's best for them. This man has the right balance of compassion, courtesy and controll. Pros: courtesy and compassion Cons: I don't get there enough! more

When my cat Harley was 6 months old, we took her to Cornell Center to get vaccinations and to get spayed. Dr. Nolte did the surgery, and it was very apparent that Harley was well cared for, and that she wasn't overly traumatized. \r \r When she developed ear mites a year later, we took her in again and this time she was seen by Dr. Stanchfield. First off, it was painfully obvious that Harley was SUPER scared, as this was only her second time at the vet. She's strictly an indoor cat, and with all the new sounds and smells, any idiot could see that she needed to be treated gently to help improve her emotional state. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to concern this vet.\r \r Dr. Stanchfield was so rough with her during the exam, even though Harley kept crying. She was so afraid that she just sat in one spot, trembling, while the doctor whipped her around, pried her jaws open, poked and prodded her, and SHOVED a cotton swab into her ear for a sample. I realize that there is a certain amount of this kind of thing that a vet needs to do to make a diagnosis, but he was really very rough about it. He treated her as if she had no feelings. \r \r The office staff is friendly and proffessional, and the medicine he perscribed fixed the problem. But, if you decide to use this veterinary practice, go with Dr. Nolte. She seems to have a lot more compassion for her patients. As for us, we are searching for a new vet altogether. more
