WOW! After reading some of these reviews...Some people just have to make it difficult for others! These people making complaints obviously are not regular clients! You can't just make a review by a "walk-in" that's not fair and not right. Also, you can't just up and decide that your cat/dog/other animal who has NEVER had vet treatment is so bad off that you cart them off to the vet when they are about to die. That's irresponsible! It is a living, breathing and feeling creature-and you owe it to them to care for them! Furthermore, yes if they are in bad shape get them there ASAP- BUT PLEASE spay and neuter and vaccinate, and have your pets seen on a regular basis. This saves time, allows the vet to make a history and be able to spot any possible problems early. Early treatment can save a life! It even saves you money! Vet care is an important part of keeping your animals happy and healthy! NOR WILL HE put down a perfectly healthy pet, which is something I am proud to say abo more

Dr. Blaes for Rats 7/21/2008

I have had pet rats for several years now and I only trust Dr. Blaes with my rats. Usually vets do not take rats seriously and do not treat them well, but Dr. Blaes always takes time for my rats and listens carefully to what I have to say. I have never felt rushed, in fact I often feel like I'm taking up too much time. When I had to put one of my little ratties down and was pouring tears in his office, he took time to make me feel better and even offered to give me his phone number in case I needed someone to talk to. The rating of five is therefore for Dr. Blaes. Yes, you have to wait a long time to see him, and the office staff are not that friendly, but to see Dr. Blaes, it is worth the wait. I definitely trust putting my rats in his hands. Dr. Blaes obviously loves his job and he is always in a good mood. I'm writing this with sincere gratitude because he has done so much for me and the little rats who make my life so much more enjoyable. more

Dr. Blaes for rabbits 4/14/2008

After taking my sick rabbit to another vet and receiving no satisfaction (a vitamin shot for $58.00), I looked on the Internet for a rabbit specialist and found Dr. Blaes at Banfield and took my little Sadie there. She had Stasis and would have died had I not taken her for further care. Since she was nursing kits at the time, she could not have meds and had to be treated stricktly through diet. She was put on greens and hay only, and after a few weeks she recovered completely. \r I have heard other rabbit and small animal owners also recommend Dr. Blaes. I wouldn't take any of my rabbits to anyone else. \r Yes, the waits are long if you don't have an appointment and are just a "walk-in", but at least you get to see a vet that day if you need to see one. Some days are more crowded than others. I find their prices in line with or cheaper then other vets in the area. more

Not so great. 1/24/2008

Waits are normally very long.\r \r It is way overpriced.\r \r Staff seems very cold and rude.\r \r I don't think it would get any business at all if it was not in Petsmart.\r \r Vet care is quality though, and there insurance plan is nice. more

Don't Go There 10/6/2007

Waits are usually very long. Called ahead on a visit about a dog to make sure what we needed to have done since it was a follow-up. Waited well over an hour with 2 small kids and a dog to be told that he needed x-rays, and it couldn't be done that day. This time I have had a call in for 2 days to talk to vet on follow up for very sick dog (ER). Vet hasn't called back and when I asked about speaking to another vet, I was told it was best to talk to him. Also, I can't get a straight answer about a question I had about anesthesia for a dental. more

great docs, wellness plans give great prices 9/13/2005

we have only used Banfield for our 2 dogs, and they have consistently given great care. We have the wellness plans which we pay 19.95 a month for and receive free office visits (great for owners of mischievous dogs like mine) and discounts on some medicines, and all yearly vaccines are included free. The doctors and very friendly and always willing to answer questions. My dogs acutally love going to the vet! The office staff can be a little difficult sometimes and that can make it frustrating but the medical team in great and my dogs are in good hands. Plus, they are located in Petsmart which makes in handy for picking up other supplies while I am out with the dogs. PROS: convenient location, great staff, wellness plans CONS: office staff is a little lacking on friendliness, but OK more
