My 1st visit to Vail was 8 on a scale of 1-10. Angela did a great job though not exactly what I?d asked for. I will say she did great with my long, very thick Greek hair. But by the 3rd visit, I?d had enough. I had realized that she just keeps suggesting highlights until you agree instead of trying to just do the one you ask for, and color was always left on my facial skin. There were always several interruptions, even walk-in clients. My last Burgandy "deposit" came out bright pink the day before my vacation in Cancun. After later realizing she had not only charged me full price (she had been giving a discount that added up to a more realistic price) but had overcharged me, I thought the nervous laughter at my generous tip suddenly made sense (I hadn?t yet realized my hi-lites were neon fuchsia). It's easy to get a haircut but not so easy to find an artistic hairstylist. You know that person that can look at your hair and instinctively know what would look best on you. This is what I look for in a hairstylist, I want a stylist that makes me look hot!!! Angela is that person. She is so talented and lots of fun. Finding a Talented and Artistic hairstylist amongst the hundreds here in the Bay Area has been a real challenge for me. I haven?t had a good cut and color since my last hairstylist relocated to Southern Cal. that is until I meant Angela at MG Image, aka Vail hair salon in downtown San Jose. She has relocated to the MG Image salon near the Fairmont and right next to The Grill. Needless to say, THANK GOD. I have had many bad experiences in other salons but I've been with Angela for so long that I'm thinking... what bad experiences? I remember braving other salons bringing a picture of what I would like my hair to resemble and they make the same thing a tired, boring grandma haircut. But i found Vail's ad in the Wave Magazine and CitySearch. Having her cut my hair is always a great experience. Not only is she a wonderful person to be around, but her haircut and coloring skills are AWESOME! You know why I know this? Whenever I step out of the salon with a fresh hair cut and color, I turn heads! I'm getting compliments left and right! :DD I feel soo good about my haircut that there's an extra bounce in my step. I have to say that my experiences at Vail Concepts in downtown San Jose have been great!! I have been to so many other salons around the region (from all of the Aveda Salons to you name it) and Angela has been the best stylist and colorist I could ask for. She listens to what you have to say, makes recommendations and delivers results! Important to know, Angela is now at MG Images, 170 S Market St, San Jose, CA 408-297-7155. She gives great hair, has a great personality, and by the way is very easy on the eyes. I am a loyal customer, never disappointed after 6 (or more?) visits, and I have REALLY hard to deal with hair. She is the bomb! more

At first, I thought the reviews here were exaggerated. However, I found them to be true. Leslie cut my hair exactly as I've wanted and more. She used innovative techniques to make my layered haircut a little different but not radically different. She was really sweet and listened to what I wanted. She took her time with me and made sure that I was comfortable during the cut. Leslie even styled my hair that got me numerous compliments later that day. They even validated my parking up to 2 hours! I highly recommend Vail Concept and Leslie! Pros: great service and style! more

I'm a young guy with naturally wavy hair and a pretty wild cowlick toward the front. If I let my hair grow out naturally-- or with a super-cuts style cut-- I have to part it to one side and deal with it, but Leslie gives it enough texture and short styling that I can maintain a contemporary GQ look without resorting to anything extreme like tons of product or harsh chemicals. I created a profile on this site to HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANGELA! I went to a trendy chic salon in Menlo Park paid $400 for the "professional colorist from beverly hills to turn my hair "metallic" (direct quote from my husband) I asked for blonde. I was desperate and I didn't know what to do or who to call. After reading the reviews on this site, I called Angela to correct the color. I was scared as you might imagine. She was so sweet and made me feel at ease, the time flew and in the end I felt terrific! I Love my blonde hair... Angela....THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! Highly recommended! more

Angela is a GREAT stylist. Once I was seated she went right to work giving me a better cut than I'd asked for. The price was thirty dollars but was well worth it. Parking is easy and VALIDATED. Angela has a great personality and the time flew by. If you don't really know what you want, just ask Angela what she thinks would work best like I did, she's up on the latest stuff. I have been going to Leslie for years...that's because she's the best. She listens to what I want and makes suggestions on what she thinks will look good but is totally okay if I don't want to take her on it. I decided to take her advice this last time and never recieved so many compliments on my hair! Leslie is a total sweetheart! I would definately gve her a call if you are looking for a A+ haircut. I followed Leslie Blum to this Salon. I think the Salon and Leslie are terrific. I consistently get great service but more importantly my cut and color always turn out great. I have been to other stylist and I usually have to settle for either a great cut or a great color. Very really could i get both. Leslie always does an A+ job. more

I have been going to this salon a few times and I will stop going based on the fact that for what you get charged, you get a great color/highlight, but when it comes to the cut itself, my stylist Angela has shaky hands! I have been to top hair salons and average ones so I know when a stylist is a pro at her job or not. In the end, I usually do not end up having the great hair cut/trim that I wanted. Also, first timers can take advantage of an advertised coupon, only once, but after the initial appointment, the salon tries to make up for the sale price, by tripling their prices in everything which I found a bit overpriced for the work done! I like the salon very much. They were very welcoming as soon as I stepped into the salon. The counter person offered me drinks while I waited. The place was very clean and comfortable. The air inside the building was all positive. My hair stylist, Angela, did a great job on my hair. I just allowed her to basically style my hair based on her recommendations for my face type. She is very nice and a good conversationalist. I'm a quiet guy, and all I felt was comfort. I love the new style too. No, miscuts whatsoever. It's perfect. Highly Recommended! About a year ago I decided I needed a new stylist (last one retired) and I wanted one near my job in downtown San Jose. A friend recommended Angela at Vail. I am a guy who has basically had two stylists for the past 17 years (since I was 18), I am picky. Angela does a great job, she helped me update my style which has received many compliments from my wife to my co-workers, everyone tells me that I look younger. If you can get an appointment, I highly recommend Angela to any guy looking for a great cut and style. more
