Best

I've practiced yoga on and off for several years in the Sugar Land area. I took a meditation seminar in September which led to taking a yoga class (buy 1, get 1 free for new stude...

Worst

Disappointing. For a studio to be catering to beginners, I don't see how anyone can come away with a good practice. The classes are by and large slow paced for beginners and yet...

Blew Off! 6/19/2011

I went to try a class and had a few questions afterwards. I went to ask who I thought was the owner or someone and was totally blown off as if what I had to say wasn't important! Not a great impression for business. For everyone commenting about how crowded this place is I have to agree. It's packed and way too crowded to do anything but run into each other. Work on service! more

Not enough space 6/12/2011

Unless you like getting bumped into or stepped on. There is just way too many people and it's gross. Wasn't worth the trip or the hassle. more

Awesome yoga 6/10/2011

I have been to this studio many times over the past months and I LOVE it. Yes, it is getting more crowded but now they have markings on the floor to help keep everyone in their own space. I have really enjoyed each instructor that I have had and would take them all again in a heartbeat. I really enjoy Sharons Iyengar class. Very lovely! The staff is awesome as well. Every time I come in they are very nice and welcoming. I love it and will continue to do my yoga here for a very long time! more

Bad Service 6/1/2011

A few weeks ago I was put off by observing how they embarrassed an individual in front of other guests because they somehow didn't update their system. They were clearly in the wrong and should've been apologetic but weren't and just left things without so much as an apology. I thought it was rude the way they handled things with this individual and I wouldn't want to be treated like that or wish that on anybody else. Just plain rude. more

Terrible 6/1/2011

The place only has one really good instructor. I don't like writing reviews, but I just had to put something out there to save someone else the trouble. Parking is convenient but they pack you in like sardines in a room with too many people making it extremely difficult to breath and concentrate on what you're supposed to be doing. BIG BIG No Go for me =( more

So crowded and uncomfortable 5/17/2011

The place is really new but is so packed and cramped with people that I really couldn't enjoy any of the classes. I had a couple of people just keep bumping into me over and over again during session and it was gross. It's sweaty and stuffy because there is so many people and it's such a tight space which made it really uncomfortable =( more

Go somewhere else... 5/7/2011

So I tried out this new studio some time ago with the $1 pass thinking to just to try it out. I live in the area and have to drive in to town for decent studios and was excited to hear that one had opened up nearby. For a new studio, my biggest gripe would probably be that I didn't feel that their customer service skills were up to par and didn't get that warm and friendly feeling from certain staff members unless I purchased a package from them and then when they assumed that I wasn?t interested in buying a package it was pretty clear that they didn?t want anything to do with me after that point. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends and will continue to practice elsewhere. more

Hands Down Best Yoga Studio in Sugar Land 1/17/2011

The first thing I noticed when I wandered into Awakened was the cleanliness of the studio. The teachers and staff are caring, knowledgeable and friendly... I appreciate having a good time in this studio both ON and OFF my mat! Awakened Yoga offers simple and to-the-point packages and competitive rates to eliminate the guess work. I felt an immediate sense of home in this studio and will continue on with my yoga practice here as AY offers a variety of styles, sure to never bore!!\r \r I HIGHLY recommend giving this studio a try... your first class is only $1!\r \r You have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain! more

Awakened Yoga Changed my bodya and life 1/16/2011

The first thing I noticed about Awakened Yoga was I felt right at home. Grace and the office staff where friendly and fun to talk with. The instructors helped me see my body in a whole new way and encouraged me to try new things. As I continued my practice, other pieces of my life just seemed to fit together. Stressful situations didn't feel so stressful and I begin to really feel pulled together for the first time in many years. Something I could never get at the gym. Thank you so much to all the staff and instructors... you really changed my life. more

Best Yoga Studio in Sugar Land 1/13/2011

I started practicing yoga at Awakened Yoga Sudio about 6 months ago and it helped me in gaining so much strength, flexibility, balance and peace of mind that I almost became addicted and I go there almost every day of the week. The place is very clean and hygienic, the staff are very kind and helpful, the teachers are very competent, knowledgeable and friendly and all the other students are very nice and warm. So I feel like I am in a family atmosphere. Another good thing about Awakened is that there are many different choices of yoga and exercise. I try different types and I never get bored. I highly recommed to everybody who wants to benefit both physically and mentally. more

Best Yoga Studio - great teachers - try it out! 1/12/2011

I am fairly new to yoga. I have been doing pilates for years, but wanted to try yoga. I started with Bikram in Sugar Land. Had horrible experience. They were pretty much rude at the studio (wouldn't let me in one day for being 5 minutes late). The instructors had attitudes...they charge a lot for their packages and the class schedule is far from flexible. You really have to work around their schedule. \r \r So, someone had told me about this place. Try the first class for $1. What did I have to lose?\r \r I loved my first Vinyasa class. And, I was actually sore afterwards for days! What a great workout! (some vinyasa classes are in a heated room - 85 degrees - which is perfect. warm enough to get you sweating and loose...not so hot as Bikram to where all you are concentrating on is not passing out! \r \r I bought two more months after that and finally did the auto-renew package, which is cheaper, gets you unlimited classes, along with other perks.\r \r The instructors are phenomemal. I used to lift weights twice a week. I enjoy this place so much, I have not lifted weights in months and am only doing the classes. Eventually, I will get back into the weights and combine the two, but the yoga is so rewarding! I am addicted!\r \r The instructors are not only friendly (they remember your name and help you a ton), but they really know their yoga. They make the classes enjoyable. It's a stress-free environment.\r \r Another perk is the lunch-hour classes. They are 45 minutes in non-heated room so you can squeeze it in on your lunch break. I love this option. \r \r If you haven't tried yoga, try it. If you are into yoga already, I guarantee this place will be great! The instructors are great in that they always provide options - from beginning to advanced, so that you always get the best out of your time there.\r \r I can't say enough good things about this place! They also have a really cute shop where you can pick up yoga gear, candles and really cute jewelry (that I have had my eye on for months...one day...)\r \r Try it to day. All you have to lose is a dollar! more

Finally, Real Yoga In Sugar Land! 1/12/2011

Finally, I don't have to drive inside the loop to do yoga!\r \r Awakened Yoga is an awesome place to practice yoga. The variety of classes is just right for eveyone from beginners to advanced students and the retail store has great clothing, mats, accessories and gifts.\r \r Instead of having just one type of yoga, they offer classes in several different styles so you can experience different disiplines and teachers all under one roof. The studio is very peaceful and everyone I met there is so nice and friendly.\r \r If you've been thinking about trying yoga I recommend Awakened Yoga in Sugar Land. It's a great place, with great teachers and the best prices in town! more

Awakened Yoga! 1/11/2011

This is a great place to do yoga! I am so glad this place opened in Sugarland. It has all different level classes for beginners (like me) and experienced yogi's. All the teachers are very kind and helpful. The studio is very clean and well kept. There are two bathrooms and a shower. The staff and owner are all very sweet and will take the time to answer any questions you might have. You can tell they really care about their clients. Their prices are very reasonable. They have a lot of different packages to choose from. You can do unlimited yoga for only $99 a month. Great Deal! I will continue to do yoga here for a long time. more
