Reinfection? 11/5/2010

I went here to have cysts removed, and the assistant who removed the stitches reinfected the area, so the cyst returned, worse than ever. The assistants here, by the way, all behave like jealous bees around the queen boy. more

The only place where I actually got results 12/7/2009

I've been going to Westside for about 2 years now and have nothing but good things to say about the place. I'm a West Seattle native but have traveled all over the city looking for someone who could help me with my rosacea. I'm in my late 40's and have had issues with it most of my adult life but could never find a doctor who could help get it under control. It was always ""hurry up,"" ""take this pill,"" or ""slather this cream on,"" but nothing ever changed. A girlfriend of mine suggested I see Amy Nelson at Westside (she's one of the PAs over there). My friend was battling a pretty bad case of the post prego pimpleys after her last pregnancy and I was super impressed with how great her skin looked, so I gave it a shot. Boy, am I happy I did. Amy took time to actually listen to me (an amazing thing in this day and age) and offered more of a holistic approach to my rosacea than simply prescribing another pill. My face has honestly never looked better. I still occasional have flare-ups, but it's usually due to user error (too much red wine or sun is the typical culprit :). Amy's advice about the effects of diet, weather, temperature, etc. on my rosacea have done wonders to help me understand my skin. It's also done wonder for my self-esteem. I no longer always feel like ""that girl with the red face."" I really can't see why some of these other reviewers have a problem seeing a Physicians Assistant. Amy is a PA yet she is just as knowledgeable as all the other ""doctors"" I've seen over the years. If anything, she seems to have a better grasp of skin issues because she actually helped me achieve the results I wanted. Go figure. I guess some people get caught up in titles. Not me, I just want somebody who is easy to talk to, actually cares about their patients, and knows what they're doing. Amy has been all that and more for me. I haven't seen any of the other doctors or PAs at Westside but, based on Amy's service, I highly recommend giving them a shot. Pros: Friendly staff, great results, Cons: Sometimes booked out for weeks more

Make sure you're seeing the doctor 7/11/2009

Like another reviewer I made an appointment and thought I was going to see the doctor. At no time when making the appointment did the lady on the phone let me know I would be seeing the Physicians Assistant. I only found out when I checked in for my appointment.\r \r Nice office, good location, but was disappointed. And I certainly didn't click with the PA, probably because I was in shock I wasn't seeing the doctor. If I'd been told at time of app't I think it would have gone much better. Pros: Nice office Cons: They slip the PA in to see you more

HORRIBLE Receptionists 7/21/2008

The receptionist are the worst. They're rude both in person and over the phone. There are lots of doctors in Seattle, DON'T bother with this one. I made an appt with the doctor but saw the PA instead. She was fine, but I expected an MD.\r \r The receptionists are not fit to clean the floors. They need to go.\r \r Don't bother going here. Pros: location Cons: bad receptionist, PA called herself ""doctor"" when she's a PA more

right in the middle of west seattle 5/16/2008

I went to Westside Dermatology because I started getting acne. This was really embarassing because I am 27 and I thought only teenagers get acne. The doctor who helped me (Kelly?) was really nice and funny. I got three prescriptions and within a few weeks my acne was gone. I also bought a really good cleanser that was a little more expensive than I would have expected but I got what I paid for because, unlike the junk they sell at Bartell's, this stuff ( called Simply Clean) really, really works. And it doesn't irritate. If I have any more skin concerns I will certainly go back to Westside. Pros: great location/parking, very nice office, dermatology product selection Cons: wait for appointment was over a week more

Beautiful office; tremendous dermatologist 5/5/2006

Dr. Arntzen is a top notch dermatologist. I went through several dermatologists before finding Dr. Arntzen. She was able to quickly diagnose my problem and successfully treat it. She made me feel at ease and answered all of my questions. I was referred to Dr. Arntzen by another long-time patient of Dr. Arntzen. She is down to earth and personable and really knows her stuff. Pros: Beautiful office, Free parking , Friendly staff more
