Editorial review from Citysearch 5/5/2013

Our dog was hit by a car.. my husband took him to aec and the vet done xrays and said that he was going to be ok ... just 2 fractured ribs and very bruised, but would be ok and go home tomorrow with a chest protector....6hrs later I go by to check on him and a different dr. is telling me they have taken air from his chest cavity several times and that hes not doing very well..and they may need to put a chest tube in later that nite..I was in shock and couldn't ask the right questions. ......the next morning I called to check on him and dr said just not improving ...30mins later vet called and dog was gone .....how can this happen ??? one dr tell us one thing and another tell us something completely different 6hrs later....I think it was about the money cause when my husband first took our dog up there, they were like well it could be this blah blah about 1500.00 or this blah blah a lot more than 1500.00 we said fix it if its around 1500.00....he had to pay 1200.00 before he left the clinic...and before it was all over we owed 1700.00 .all for a mis diagnoses..please don't take your animal there more

Held hostage 12/5/2011

Called the clinic and told them what my cats symptoms were she said it sounds like your cat is dying you need to bring it in now. I get there, they take the cat from us and run to the back. Another lady comes in and said you need to be up front and honest with me, It is $65 to look at the cat and $150 for x-rays and then the cost for treatment. I said I don't have a bunch of money and she said well, you could put the cat down for $65 for us to look at him and $50 to put it down. It will be $50 more if they dispose of him or we could take the cat home. She said regardless you owe the $65 because we have already examined him and you can't take him home sick so it;s either treat or put him down but either way you will be paying for the services you choose tonight. I said I needed to try and go get some money and she made my son stay behind as a hostage to make sure I cam back with the money. As soon as I got back, they came out with the dead cat in his blanket and handed it to my son. He cried holding his dead cat all the way home. JUST SICK!!!!!!!!!!!\r \r A warning over the phone would have been nice. Don't come unless you can pay for services. I am glad the cat is not suffering any longer just feel guilty we were pressured in to killing him rather than possibly saving his life. I still don't know what was wrong with him or if it was even worth treating. I am sorry, kittenkaboodle \r more

Doctor Hartless 6/25/2011

DO NOT GO TO DR. HART HE IS HORRIBLE! I highly do not recommend this clinic! Anyone that would employ him is incompetent! more

Only care about money! 9/29/2010

My dog was there over the weekend, she was not well at all we knew we needed to put her down. The vet kept telling us we needed to give her a chance, 837$ later and then to our regular vet and we had to put her down. They really only cared about the money and giving us false hope she would pull through. more

They are AWESOME 1/20/2009

I recently had a litter of dachshund puppies who were very ill, the doctor was so helpful and was so supportive of me. the staff made me feel like they really cared about me and my puppies and the momma dog. They even called a week after they went home to check on them. On the money they offered me care credit which helped me alot. Pros: state of the art equiptment and knowledgable staff. more

Rude Owner and poor service. 1/20/2009

We took our dog to this office and the people where nice at first but seemed to be more worried about MONEY than my dog! In the long run we did not get the services we where told we had paid for up front and they will not stand by their word.Talked to the owner about our problem and he just called us stupid. Will not go back! Pros: their hours Cons: Everything else more

You get what you pay for, and I expect the best for my animals. 11/1/2008

Animal Emergency Center is a fantastic emergency hospital. It provides state of the art diagnosis and treatment. Consequently don't expect to get out cheaply but expect top veterinary care. My dog had a severe life-threatening infection and after seeing two other emergency vets in Oklahoma City area (who could not diagnose the exact bacterial culprit) , he was just going downhill. I brought him to Animal Emergency Center and they had him stabilized and on the mend within 48 hours. Now a week later he's back to almost 100% health and full recovery. The treatment cost almost $1000 but they saved his life (and he's only a year old dog). Considering that the other 2 emergency vets who did nothing charged me $400-500 each to do nothing, what Animal Emergency Center charged really wasn't terrible. Bottom line: if you are willing to spend what it takes to get your dog diagnosed and cured, AEC is the place to go. They were courteous and caring. They kept my daytime Veterinarian in the know on everything, and have called every day for a week to find out how my dog is doing. Pros: State of the art care, latest diagnostic and treatment equipment, friendly caring service Cons: Expensive (but you get what you pay for!) And I only want the best for my animals!!! more

BEST DOCTOR IN THE WHOLE WORLD 10/1/2008

I have taken several of my ""kids"" to this clinic. And everytime it was a life or death situation. They are awesome people there and treated me and my dogs with the up most respect. I would highly reccommend this clinic and Dr.James Flinchbaugh to anyone. He sure knows what he is doing. I have no complaints. It is great to have a clinic that is open after hours, weekends and hoildays. It seems thats when I neeed a doctor for one of my dogs and I will gladly pay any price to have them save one of my dogs' life. Pros: open after hrs - weekends and holidays - they have Dr.Flinchbaugh more

OMG 8/22/2008

Do not take your animals here. They gouge your eyes out with the prices. I mean if you are in an emergency you might not care, and I have been there and had to take my animals here. But yeah they are nice because I swear they must make commision off their prices. more

THE BEST CARE!! 6/18/2008

OMG what a fast paced, precise, and dedicated team of Doctor's and technicians. The receptionist as well. Everyone kept me informed of everything going on as my dog was in the back getting treated instead of just making me wait with no updates as a few other places I've been to in an emergency situation have. I will only recommend this place to friends and family. I only wish they were open 24 hours! Thanks AEC for saving my dog and keeping me calm in the process. You are not the Best Possible Care, you are The Best Care. Pros: Better than a human E.R. more

Amazing!!! Highly recommended!!! 6/15/2008

Wow words cannot express the compassion of all the staff. They truly deliver on all their modern technology. The human E.R. should go and learn a few things from this place. Now if they would only open 24 hours. I would never have to go anywhere else. more
