I first took my sick rabbit to my regular vet. They told me she was very sick and could run tests to see what the underlying issue was, but would probably refer me to another vet since they don't specialize with rabbits. After doing some research to see if there were any local vets that specialized in rabbits, I came upon Ani-Care. I decided to take my rabbit to see Dr. Feinsod. He was very caring and also very knowledgable. I appreciated the time he took to explain everything to me on what could be wrong with her, went over what tests he could run and what steps he could try, but he told me he would let me decide on what I wanted to do. He also noted that she was very sick and might not even pull through. With her being so sick and how quickly rabbits get stressed out, I already had a feeling that she might not. Dr. Feinsod thought it might have been her heart, so I decided to leave her there to have some tests done. Unfortunately when I was getting ready to get in my car, he came running after me to tell me she was showing signs of distress. When I went back in, her heart stopped. He offered to try to revive her but I decided to let her go. Dr. Feinsod and his staff were very supportive and I feel he did everything he could have done to try to save her. I definitely would feel confident taking my other pets there. more

I am writing to say that Dr. Feinsod has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. He is not the problem with this office. It's unfortunate because if he would hire better staff, he would be the best vet around. None of his staff are particularly friendly or helpful. And when they are, it's short-lived. The male receptionist is absolutely horrible. He has a major attitude problem and is extremely rude and condescending. I can't believe a man like Dr. Feinsod would even employ a person like him. I am considering going to another practice because of this receptionist. I get mistreated every single time I either go there with one of my pets or go there to purchase medications and/or food. I am definitely not the only customer who feels this way. If you haven't gone here yet; I would suggest not going. At some point, no matter how wonderful the doctor may be, the staff will make it too miserable to continue with this office. Again, mostly due to the male receptionist. more

Dr Feinsod is THE Vet for my pets! 2/20/2013

Dr Feinsod is a highly skilled and knowledgable vet and surgeon. I had a cat that vomitted alot and a vet that I worked with in another hospital examined him and I was told it was probably a food allergy. After changing his food and no difference I took him to Ani-Care. Dr Feinsod felt his stomach and in 30 seconds told me he felt something wrong like a tumor. Turns out my cat had stomach cancer. Long story short it was too advanced to do anything about. But he gave us meds to keep him pain-free and me and my family time with him we needed to prepare ourselves and spoil him rotten before we had to say goodbye. If it wasn't for Dr Feinsod he probably would have just suffered in silence. I have since used him for all of my pets fuzzy, feathered and otherwise and couldn't imagine going to anyone else. I'm not really the internet review type but I see too many negative reviews (usually for something petty and always giving 1 star never 2 or 3) and not enough good ones for businesses who de more

Too Much Talking, Not Enough Content 2/14/2013

Writing this after switching vets, I found Feinsod overall very disappointing. At first when I took my bird to him with a broken foot I was very excited I found a vet that could take care of her and he did a great job but eventually the bird died so I continued to take my dogs and cats to him because Anicare was about 2 minutes from my house and it's a pain to switch. However, it soon became apparent that Feinsod had a certain mindset concerning my cats' food. He persistently suggested a brand of cat food that was very expensive, one that I could not afford. Granted, he suggested it because two of my cats are obese (I got them from the shelter that way) so I understood and tried to figure out a way to manage my budget better but it wasn't going to happen. I looked online for other options because it seemed he wasn't going to suggest anything but the expensive kind, which he did at every single appointment for over half of the 20 minutes I was there. I found many sites suggesting wet fo more

I have 2 rabbits and 3 cats. When searching for a vet for my rabbits, Ani Care came highly recommended from several sources (York Co. SPCA, friends, coworkers) I was very pleased with my first visit with my dwarf rabbit. I subsequently have taken my cats and other rabbit. Dr. Feinsod is very knowledgeable, spends lots of time sharing information, answering questions, creating a plan of action, etc. with you. I always feel very welcome and informed by both he and his staff. On top of that, they are WONDERFUL with the animals. I have experienced with other vets very little attention and connection with my animals. Not the case at Ani Care, they are always attentive and caring with each of my animals. On the flip side, I've also had to deal with losing a rabbit, again Ani Care was there with great support, care and helping me every step of the way. Highly, highly recommend them for your pets!! more

Dr. Feinsod and the staff at Ani-care are knowledgeable and compassionate. I have several pets and can not imagine taking them anywhere else. Whether you have cats, dogs, reptiles or rabbits you and your animal will be treated with respect and dignity. I strongly recommend Dr. Feinsod for rabbit care and surgery. I have had a few rabbits with severe health issues and the treatment is top notch. I have referred several friends and co-workers over the last three years and all have thanked me for it. Some of them including my mother travel up to 45 minutes to have their animals seen at Ani-care rather than driving them to a vet clinic close to their home. They are also active in the community and help with rescue groups. more

Don't Go There !!! 2/26/2012

\r Don't go there!!! I brought my German Shepherd in for a routine teeth cleaning in 8/2010 and she has never been the same. Found out she got STREPTOCOCCUS from a dirty needle. Can't prove it, just alleging it. My dog has licked the area where the IV was placed since she came home from her treatment and has not left the area alone since. We have paid more for post-vet. bills trying to get her leg to properly heal than for the teeth cleaning. It has been well over a year and a half, and the area where the IV was placed has not healed, in fact it gets progressively worse. Thanks for ruining my dog's leg Dr. Feinsod. I'm so glad that my wife and I left your clinic after raising your prices three times in less that a year. I would highly recommend that anyone considering Veterinary care steer clear away from AniCare Animal Hospital.\r more

Highly recommended 1/31/2012

I recently adopted a one year old lab, and have only been to ani-care a couple of times, but my lab and I both had good experiences. EVERYBODY was friendly, it was easy to schedule and even reschedule an appointment when it was needed, and I feel that my dog is in great hands. The vet there seems very knowledgeable, and the prices were not bad. They were helpful to my dog and I both above and beyond what I had expected, neither of us dreaded the second trip back, and I am glad to schedule future appointments there as long as we continue to experience such an exceptional level of service at Ani-care. I definitely recommend this hospital!! more

Excellent, kind, and caring vet 8/19/2010

I have 2 parakeets, 1 parrot, and 2 cats. I've never needed to take the birds to the vet so I never realized that there are not that many vets in the area that able to take care of birds. One of my birds (Cher) broke her leg and the vet we take the cats to doesn't specialize in birds. I was referred to Dr. Feinsod at the 24 hour emergency vet hospital. I was immediately impressed. Not only was I seen on time, but Dr. Feinsod treated Cher very well. He explained the various options. He told me all the pros and cons and recommended we put a harness on her. When he brought her back from putting the harness on her, he held her like she was one of his own pets. When I received the bill, I was happily surprised at his charges, they were very reasonable. A few days later, Cher chewed away her harness and I needed to come back in to have it reapplied. Dr. Feinsod reapplied her harness in no time and spent time talking to me about Cher's leg and how it was healing. He also gave me excellent information about birds. He told me about perches and toys that they might like. I was impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm about birds and glad to know that he was taking such good care of Cher. When, the bill for this visit arrived, I was surprised again. I was only charged for the office visit and not the harness redo. The vet I take the cats to definitely would have charged for that. Dr. Feinsod is an excellent vet and I am glad that I took Cher to him. Trinell Hartranft more

With highest regards 3/26/2010

My comment is focused on Dr. R. Feinsod, DMV at this hospital. I have had the pleasure of him caring for my Rottweiler, Nala while he was an associate at another Vet clinic in Howard Beach, NY. He takes the upmost care with the animals, and is very passionate about his work. He repaired a torn ligament in my dog's knee in '07 and she is running around as we speak. I can't say enough good words in reference to the quality care he gives. Your hospital's gain is surely our loss!! more

This is a good, kind caring vet! 2/17/2010

Dr, Feinsod is a very intelligent, young vet. with a big heart, who will LISTEN to what the pet owners says and consider what was told to him, unlike another vet I used to use. \r He was always good with Lily and tried to think of ways to deal with her problems. \r I would highly recommend him. The Finest Vet in PA 12/18/2009

My wife and I are involved in the breeding of pets on Long Island, NY. New York's loss at Dr. Feinsod going to PA - was PA's huge gain. He is one of the most knowledgable vets we have ever come across. Dr Feinsod was for years, the "go to guy" at the clinic where he worked. He treated all pets exactly the way the owners would want them treated. He also makes sure, before you leave his clinic, that you have a full understanding of what is going on with your pet. I thank him for all of his help and kindness while in NY and have no hesitation in recommending Dr Feinsod to one and all. Hugh & Marie Long Island, NY more

Dr. Feinsod is the best! 11/17/2008

We took my son's sick snake to see Dr. Feinsod. He spent a lot of time with us discussing feeding, care, proper temperature and many other aspects of this particular breed of snake. He is very thorough and knows his stuff! more

Under New Management 8/25/2008

Ani-Care Animal Hospital was taken over by Dr. Randon Feinsod, a vet from NYC, who practices up to date medicine, reasonable prices, performs major surgery including orthopedic, and sees not only cats and dogs but exotics with a special interest in reptiles. Very net vet clinic! 11/29/2005

We take our cats here, after a reccomendation from our neighbors. Dr. Amin is very nice, and we have been very pleased with the service here. As are our cats. In some "bigger city" vet clinics, we have found difficulty comminicating with the vet, a rushed attitude, and higher costs. Dr. Amin is helpful and the costs are reasonable. Also, her treatment practices are conservative. We took in our slightly limping 13 year old cat, and the first thing she tried was a half baby asprin, not the more expensive and stressful x-ray. The a baby asprin worked, and we are very pleased. more
