Dr. Newland, and his staff, is amazing! We have four dogs, all different breeds, who have various issues. Dr. Newland never has to research information during our visits. Dr. Newland knows the statistics, treatment, and potential complications each dog faces with their specific ailment. Dr. Newland is kind, caring, knowledgeable, and above all else, compassionate. Whether Dr. Newland is taking care of our oldest dog, our 12 year old lab, or our youngest dog, our 2 year old Beagle, his handling of our dogs is amazing. Even our spastic Chihuahua lets Dr. Newland hold her and treat her. That is saying a lot! It is nice to have a vet that has a way with animals, young and old. more

Best Vet Ever!! 4/9/2011

What can I say about Dr. Newland? By far, hands down, the BEST vet I have ever been to. My dogs loved him - who doesn't. We would even sing the "going to Dr. Newland's" song on vet visit days. From a pet owner's perspective, he takes the time needed to explain every condition, treatment, and option available, and gives his honest opinion as to what he thinks would be best. I never felt like he was trying to sell me something, or make money. He is a dream vet come true. We miss you Dr. Newland!! (moved out of AZ, and would have taken you with us if we could). more

Very proffesional/helpful 8/11/2010

This is the best animal hospital I have been too by far. I take all my animals there and they are so amazing with all of them. They always get me in if it is an emergency and will work with me if I need to have a payment plan. \r I was informed of every step they were doing with all my pets. I never felt like I didn't know what was going on.\r Top notch! more

THE BEST!! 2/4/2010

Dr. Newland and his team are amazing. Truly. We have 9 pets, and a few of them are "frequent flyers" at Adobe. From the warm greeting on the phone by Adrianna to the sincere and heartful compassion Michele, Bridgette, Theo and the rest of the team have Adobe is first class. Dr. Newland always calls to follow up and his advice has never lead us astray. We looked into other practices closer to our home, but no one compares to Adobe. Dr. Fixler is a great new addition and quickly showed us with his efficent take charage manner in a time of crisis why he is such a good fit. I just can't say enough about them! If you are looking for a great Vet practice where your 4 legged kids will be well cared for - look no further! more

Dr. Berthiaume is the best vet ever! 11/28/2008

Yes, that's a bold statement but Dr. Geoffrey Berthiaume is without question the single greatest vet I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only does he have infinite knowledge of dogs and cats, he is kind, compassionate, intelligent and truly cares about the animals he is tasked with healing. Dr. B is exceptional and every single person I have referred to him has come back to me saying, "Oh my god...he is the best!" I've sent like six or seven people and everyone of them just adores him. In addition to Dr. B, Dr. Tom Newland is also exceptional. (He's the other vet in the practice.) The entire staff including Michele, Adrianna, Bridget, Theo, Jennifer, etc. are all amazingly caring, kind and loving people who emotionally invest in your animals wholly. They cry when you cry and the celebrate when all is well. You will not find a more incredible group of people who truly love what they do. It shows from the moment you walk in the door. BEST IN THE WEST 10/1/2008

We have gone to Adobe forever. They have taken care of our cat, maltese, guinea pigs, cocker, beagle mix, vizzala, and now our rat terrier. They are excellent vets...have an excellent staff and you won't find any better in the valley. We highly recommend them if you have a pet you love and want it to have the best care\r possible. more

excellent care 10/1/2008

We have found Adobe Animal Hospital to be a really great vet clinic. The staff is always caring and considerate to our needs and the vets are extremely knowledgable, but they are also willing to recommend a specialist if the case requires it. Our vet also considers us and our pets as individuals and consistently gives us the best advice based on our individual situation. I really appreciate that. They also do their best to give us the most up to date information, which again I truly apprceciate. \r \r For example, we have a dog who has hypolipdemia that manifested itself in her eyes. Our vet at Adobe referred us to a wonderful eye specialist to help us.\r \r Our cat has a rare form of cancer, which required a very extensive surgery. Our vet did a really great job, called us at home to check on our cat's recovery and then recommended a holistic oncologist based on our wishes. It's that kind of service that you just don't find anywhere. \r \r I do recommend Adobe and our vets whenever I know more

Best Animal Care in the Valley 11/2/2007

I have had four animals (3 cats and 1 boxer) that I have taken to Adobe Animal Hospital over the past 6 years and have received nothing but the utmost consideration and care for my animals. The doctors and the staff are friendly and professional. When I had to put one of my cats to sleep they were so supportive; I even received a hand-written letter from the doctor a week later saying how sorry he was about my cat. They are knowledgeable, kind, and obviously love animals. If they treated humans, I would go there too! more

Doctor needs to go back to school 7/22/2007

I do not recommend this hospital at all, first the doctor and technicians were afraid of my 10lb doxie, I had to come back to the hospital every time they needed to do a treatment ( and my dog has maybe 5 teeth - go figure), did nothing until it was too late for his heart problem ( as far as referring to a cardiologist) then they misdiagnosed my other little guy as having addisons disease (when he had pancreatitis) and wanted to put him on meds that would give him Cushings disease in the long run, and the Dr. (if you can call him that) recommended no surgery on my shepard who had a 3lb lipoma in his rear leg ( second and third opinions people - get them) more

Great attention to detail and personal service. 6/10/2005

The entire staff is friendly, warm, personable, helpful, and geniune. The doctors are very good at listening to my needs, answering my quesitons, and understanding my concern. They personally call me back with test results, and will not allow the staff to give it over the phone. They call frequently to check the status of my cat after she has been in to visit with an ailment. They will even fit you in if you have special circumstances. I highly recommend their service. more

    Adobe Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care.


    We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local specialty practices when special diagnostic procedures or surgeries are required. The facility includes a large treatment area, in-house lab facility, 2 ultrasonic dental cleaning units, a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor kennels.

In-House Stem Cell Regenerative Therapy


    In October 2010 Dr. Tom Newland became one of the first veterinarians in the Phoenix area to be trained by Dr. Mike Hutchinson with Medi-Vet Laboratories on a new technique involving In-House Stem Cell Therapy. Shortly after,both Dr. Newland and Theo Pyres,CVT,became certified to perform the procedure. In-House Stem Cell Regenerative Therapy uses ground-breaking technology to harvest adipose stem cells from the fat tissue of animals. After these cells have been extracted and activated they are injected into the arthritic joints of the animal. This is all performed while your pet is under light anesthesia. The technology created by Medi-Vet Laboratories allows for the entire procedure to be completed in the hospital and all in one day. Other technologies take several days for the cells to be harvested,activated,and then injected,which also requires the animal to be under anesthesia multiple times on different days.


    We are now offering in-house regenerative stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis in both dogs and cats. This is a drug free treatment that is performed in-house on a same-day basis. The procedure is proven to relieve pain and increase range of motion. In many cases we can see treated animals walking,running and jumping as little as three weeks after the procedure.
