Bad Experience 9/11/2018

We contracted through Home Depot to have a new central air conditioning system installed in 2015. They sent ARS Of Boston to install our system. The system started to act up in less than three years. ARS was called and someone came out and stated that they did not see anything wrong with the system but they charged for a tune up. The system started to act up within 48 hours, but going by their word that they system was fine we did not call them. About 5 or so weeks later the system stopped working. Someone from ARS came out and played around with the system for close to an hour and he also charged us and told us the system is defective and we will have to pay almost $2000 for labor although the system is covered under warranty. Whatever he did lasted less than 24 hours. We have contacted Home Depot and ARS several times as to why we need to spend over $7000 to get an air conditioning system to last over three years??? The system that that was in place before lasted over 40 years. ARS stated that because we did not have the system serviced the last two years and because there is a couch in front of the other system that why it died. Couch has been in the same place for 15 years and the people that owned the house before us had their couch in the same place. We also had the old system serviced before and they didn’t say that the couch was a problem. Wondering if this was an older system that they had in their store room why it didn’t last. Our opinion is terrible service from this company. more

I've had ARS come out for a few jobs, both installing new equipment as well as repairing / maintaining an old furnace, and I highly recommend them for fast, clean, and professional service. Technician Jim Curt quickly cleaned out my neglected furnace and helped us sort through our options for replacing a few very worn components, then made sure to tidy up after himself and thoroughly test the system before wrapping up. He was clearly experienced, which gave me a lot of confidence in his work, and he was also friendly and easy to work with. ARS has been fantastic both times I've had them come out, and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for similar work. more

Service 9/20/2017

Our A/C unit is 11 years old and we are still happy with its performance and with the company. One technician has been extremely responsive and helpful with resolving an issue we had with having a part replaced. The technician is Jim Curtin. There was a small part needed to complete a repair and previous techs and the company were unable to order the correct part. After approx 3 months jim was sent out to help us. He took a photo and sent it in and called the warehouse. He also went to check out their supplies for the part and was able to find the part!! He came out and completed the job!! We had a/c at all times but part was needed to complete repair. At all times jim Curtin was a caring professional and very knowledgeable. Thank You ARS for sending Jim Curtin. more

Annual Tune Up of Lennox A/C 4/14/2016

Service Technician Jim C. called ahead to confirm he was enroute and would be here within the scheduled time. Upon arrival he went about the annual tune-up of our Lennox A/C and explained that he would be replacing our previously installed surge protector at no cost as ARS was doing so due to the possibility of defective units. He explained that the A/C was in good order and completed the overall work in a timely manner. Was very informative and also made us aware of other ARS services, etc. I would recommend both ARS and Jim C. Thanks. more

Jim did a tune up of our boiler, plus a repair and checked our water heater AND helped me figure out an issue with the pipes running to the outside. He was effective and thought about every angle of the various issues and gave me good suggestions of things to think about going forward. Great service, thanks Jim! more

TJ technician with ARS heating Services - Furnace Tune-up 10/10/2015

ARS routinely tune's up and maintains my AC and Heating System. ARS perfomed furnace tune-up as part for $99 with coupon they mailed. This was the first time TJ was the technician. Tech arrived on time, was polite, and answered all my questions. Tech performed routine cleaning, and review of system components. Tech noted 1 potential problem, and answered my questions regarding the issue. I was impressed with TJ's efficiency and clarity in explaining the issue he identified. more

I had a great experience with Jim Curtin of ARS Boston. My AC stopped working and he quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me some great advice on maintaining my heating and AC units. I'm sure the other technicians are good, but if you can make a request, choose Jim. Adrian more

Jim is a very professional and knowledgeable service technician. both time he he came to my house he was able to diagnose and repair my air conditioner within 30 minutes. both my wife and I appreciated his knowledge and his ability to explain exactly what the problems were with our unit. We had Chris T over to review options for replacing our 21 year old water heater. He was very professional and helpful in reviewing the various options available to us. Once we made a selection Chris T was back the day after Thanksgiving to replace the old water heater with a new one. As a Master Plumber he is very knowledgeable, very efficient and trustworthy. We would recommend him without any reservation. more

Annual Gas Heating System Check UP 8/28/2013

Nick G. was most curteous and seemed thorough in his check out of our heating system. He put booties on without being asked to insure he did not dirty our carpets. He explained what he was doing and why as he preformed his checkout. Definitely is a credit to the company. more
